When cloning is a safe and proven method for restoring hair, we will be on the forefront of it. It will take years and years for the FDA to approve the defined process of cloning and that process has not yet been defined. I don’t hold my breath waiting.

I saw this article yesterday about hair cloning on the UK’s Times Online: Baldness cure firm heads for AIM Here is an example of a business deal coming down the pike shortly which mixes the anticipation of raising a large amount of money with the excitement of hair cloning. Growing hair in a test-tube from […]
I recently had a conversation with my associate Dr. Robert Bernstein, who in turn spoke to the most prominent hair cloning expert in the world today, Dr. Angela Christiano. The gist of their conversation was that there is nothing new on the horizon at this time that has changed the prospects for hair cloning anytime […]
Dr. Washenik is a reliable source. Like me, he is overly optimistic on some things, but I believe that his timeline have not panned out in the past, so I would expect the same for the future. I do believe that hair cloning will come, but because of legislative challenges, I would doubt that we […]
You should give Propecia at least 18-24 months to peak out its benefit. When you say it is not working, I assume that you mean you are still losing some hair. The normal hair loss rate is about 100-150 hairs/day and with that comes another new 100-150 hairs that start growing. Could it be that […]
I am constantly asked for information and news on what is coming down the pike on hair cloning. The following link will take you to a news release from the Associated Press, published yesterday. Please read through the lines; nothing is about to happen tomorrow. Yahoo News: Scientists Seek New Treatments for Balding
The topic of hair cloning comes up quite often, but there really isn’t anything new to report. Similar questions I’ve previously answered in this blog can be found in the hair cloning section. I do not expect that hair cloning will be available for commercial use in the next 10 years. The political problems alone […]
I am constantly asked about hair cloning, and when I respond to a question where I suggest that cloning is not close at hand, I often get attacked for that view. I am outspoken and critical of over-simplification. There is too much sensationalism — setting up false expectations targeting desperate men who then think that […]
The interest last week on our piece addressing hair cloning was very high. I would like to call your attention to a recent breakthrough that has just been reported on gene therapy. Scientists hope that by getting at the genetic roots of hair loss, they will eventually spawn better baldness treatments or a cure. This […]
It has been about six weeks since I’ve posted an entry about hair cloning, but I’ll revist the topic again because I get quite a few requests for information. People generally want to believe that cloning is just around the corner. When it comes to cloning, hair follicles are in a tough spot. They are […]
Benjamin asked… The hair cloning issue keeps coming up because it seems to be promoted by some unscrupulous people who use the cloning ‘card’ as a way to elevate their own position of authority in this business. There is no cloning on the short-term horizon for hair, despite claims to the contrary. If and when […]
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240206170882/en/Stemson-Therapeutics-Announces-Technological-Breakthrough-in-New-Hair-Growth Hair has been cloned before. I was told that the problem encountered was when they put the cloned hairs into mice, they all died of infected hair follicles. This was because the hairs grew in all directions and didn’t orient themselves properly; hair grew out of skin. Think of hair as a complex organ […]
https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/biotech/sdut-hair-stem-cells-papillae-gnedeva-terskikh-burnham-2015jan26-story.html This has been done before. I remember attending a lecture which described these cells put into mice and since the direction couldn’t be controlled, the mice all died from ingrown hair infections
Dr. Christiano is a world class researcher doing front line research on hair cloning. I have met her and she is amazing!
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2019/06/28/hair-grown-skin-using-stem-cells-breakthrough-could-cure-baldness/ Based on what I understand about their technology, the article significantly overstates things. Several other big skin groups are trying to make human hairs from cells, but it is very hard and hairs are not desirable scalp hairs.
