“Normally, between 40 and 100 hairs are shed daily on a non- shampoo day; twice as many are shed on days when the hair is shampooed.” Does that mean we shouldn’t shampoo? Hair that is shed is not coming out because you shampoo your hair, it comes out because it is either going through its […]
I’m planning to get scalp micropigmentation SMP on my FUE scars soon. I currently use minoxidil foam which is essentially just minoxidil dissolved in pure ethanol. Does ethanol applied to the skin longterm cause significant fading or blurring of the SMP dots? The use of alcohol based lotions should be avoided for only the first […]
DHT blocking shampoos, do they really block DHT? They contain saw palmetto and that kind of stuff, but do they actually work? And if so, how much do they block? The DHT shampoos have nothing to carry the blocking agent to the DHT and they can’t go through the skin so its all marketing hype
Is it true that if I stop using DHT blocking shampoos I will lose hair, even if my hairline may just be matured? There is no effective DHT blocking shampoo on the market. It is not easy to get a DHT block from a shampoo that you wash off of your head
Probably not! Primitive man rarely washed their hair and many were very hairy!
To answer your question, no. Clearing up the sebum does not clear up the DHT. The DHT that impacts the hair follicles exist below the skin while the sebum exists in the sebaceous unit which is outside of the body.
I don’t believe that there is anything that can block DHT in any shampoo. DHT blocking shampoos are a hoax.
No, there is no such thing as a shampoo which blocks DHT
Yes, if you are shedding and shampooing, the fallen hairs that are in the hair will fall out. IF you are rough, more hair will be pulled out so use gentle techniques when shampooing especially if you are losing hair already. Is it normal to lose hair while shampooing ? from tressless
I used expired shampoo, i knew what i was getting myself into, but i loved the shampoo’s effects on my hair and i continued using it even after its expiry, it was Dove, there was a lot left and i didn’t want to throw it away, i was being a cheapskate. Anyway I started having […]
I am 18. I had very thick and dense hair. I was facing slight hairloss. I started using Hair and shoulders. And I started loosing crazy amounts of hair and started going bald in front region. Now I am quitting head and shoulders. lets hope for the best. At 18, you may be experiencing accelerated […]
Shampoos and washing your hair does not cause hair loss in general. In men genetic traits (androgenic alopecia – male pattern balding) causes hair loss. In women hair loss can also be genetic or hormonal (example: menopause). Shampoos have ingredients that can irritate the skin/ scalp in some people and that can be an issue, […]
DHT blocking shampoos probably don’t work to treat hair loss, and certainly not systemically. Some people claim that ketoconazole shampoo regrows hair, but it’s just a good antifungal treatment as far as I’m concerned. Moreover, I don’t believe that these shampoos will impact the size of your penis. At 17 years old, you’ve likely completed […]
You are fighting your genetics… and your genetics will eventually prevail. Sorry to tell you the bad news. I hope you are under the care of a doctor, because dutasteride and ketoconazole do not add much benefit in hair loss treatment. You are likely doing enough by taking finasteride daily. I don’t know how I […]
