The problem was discovered at the Mount Vernon, Indiana junior high when parents reported their children had rashes and hair loss. Chlorine is known to cause or accelerate hair loss, particularly at higher levels. It may be just a topical effect and if so, will reverse.
Wait a minute Doc, didn’t you claim on a previous post that chlorine in pools did not cause hair loss? I’m confused by your statement that “Chlorine is known to cause or accelerate hair loss, particularly at higher levels”. I’m also pretty scared, since I swim every day!
Very high levels can contribute to damaging your hair, resulting in loss. Normal levels shouldn’t cause hair loss.
