Depression and finasteride

I have a history of severe depression. Will finasteride harm me?  

With a history of depression, you need to discuss taking finasteride with your doctor. There are potential side effects with people who have a history of severe depression so great caution should be exercised when taking this drug and a close supervision of your doctor is important.
