Losing more hair on one side of my head

So I am thinning fast on only one side of my head, a direct line in the middle of my head from the back of my neck to my forehead separates normal hair to thinning short hair, it’s actually messed up. I am 21 and have had nice thick hair my whole life until I noticed this last year. There is no stimulation or feeling when I massage my scalp on the one side of my head, that side just feels like its barely staying alive lol. I went out and bought, nizoral shampoo and castor oil today and even just rubbing the castor oil mixture in there were tons of hairs covering my hand like im shedding (Again only on that one side of my head) nothing falls out on the other side when I message it. I want to know if ANY of you have seen any positive results from Minoxidi or rogaine. I’m not desperate enough to get my doctor to give me Fin I personally like my hair but due to the fact I need my dick to work and so does my girlfriend the side effects threw me off.
