A poster on Reddit suggested that a new drug verteporfin , would regrow hairs that were removed by FUE. The proof was shown here without before pictures of the same area after the FUE was performed. This is an incredible claim not backed up my this photo. Proper scientific investigation would have to be done. […]

Is fut better if somebody is willing to do multiple surgeries throughout their life? Or is fut preferable in that case? Thanks. It makes no difference for lifetime hair transplants if you go to FUE or FUT
I have a hair transplant programmed in 2 months. My doctor told me to avoid all kind of exercise for 2 weeks prior and 4 weeks post-transplant. I will ask him for more details about it, I mean, can’t I do a few sets of really low weights just to maintain the muscle? or is […]
My patient texted to me that he appeared in the courtroom before the judge who commented on his hair cut saying to him: “Nice Haircut”. He is a trial attorney. What is significant here is that the judge DID NOT say nice ‘Hair Transplant’
I did research and saw it’s important to take fin for a year prior to FUE, but did my research a little too late, and discovered this sub after I had my FUE a week ago…. It’s too late to turn back time, and I started taking fin now post-op, but I have anxiety that […]
Look at your donor supply as a bank account, but it has follicular units (grafts) instead of money. Caucasians are born with 110,000 hairs or 50,000 follicular units (grafts) of which something between 10,000-12,500 that contain permanent hairs. It is a simple calculation that if there are 50,000 grafts (follicular units which I am now […]
Hi doc I had a quick question. If a 3-4 hair follicle is grafted with FUE, can one of the hairs be sliced off and inserted back into the donor site? You get a 2-3 hair follicle to use on the head and the single hair follicle growing out of the donor site would make […]
This is a remarkable video of Dr. H Mohmand performing FUE at a rate of over 3000 grafts per hour at his clinic in Islamabad, Pakistan. Very commendable skills.
21 days, is sheading, but not all, most are growing, is it possible for most not to shed? has anyone seen this? What you think is growing might be pushing the hairs below the skin forward and out of your head. You will know in a couple of weeks because if the hair continues to […]
This man has the scars that are typical of Follicular Unit Excision (FUE). I drew a line separating what is scalp hair and neck hair. Neck hair is not permanent, so many of the grafts that were taken from the neck (below the line) may disappear in the years to come.
I generally tell my patients that if you have an advanced balding pattern or expect to have a hair transplant, then the strip surgery is a better surgery for harvesting. Large amounts of FUE grafts can produce a see-through donor area if too many grafts are harvested
I wrote an extensive article on the combination using FUE and SMP together to increase the value of the hair in a hair transplant here: https://newhair.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Combining_Follicular_Unit_Extraction_and_Scalp.98621.pdf
Does everyone who has an FUE mean everyone that the follicles get transfered from the donor zone, have small scars and loss of the hair grafts from where it was taken? I noticed a lot of ppls donor zone regrowing after surgery so im a bit confused It would take an act of G-d to […]
Both procedures are good; however, FUE for medium weight hair should be limited to about 3000-3600 grafts. For fine hair, the numbers are much smaller sized sessions as see-through donor areas occur frequently in fine haired people after too many FUEs. If your hair is coarse, you have far less limitations and either surgery works […]
If you decide to shave your head after a FUE hair transplant, will it look stupid/horrible (owing to all the scars in donor and recipient regions) and, if so, can this be countered with SMP? You might see the white scars from the FUE punch. That would call attention to your hair transplant.
