Bald Scalp, Greasy Forehead?
I have noticed that 90-95 of men who are losing their hair have a greasy or shiny forehead or scalp including myself. But what I also noticed is that men who have excellent hair never ever have a greasy or shiny forehead or scalp. I feel if we can control what is ever producing that greasiness then we can control hair loss. What are your thought or have you read or head about any research in regards to this?
I am not convinced that greasy hair is related to hair loss. If you have hair you would not notice their greasy scalp from visual observation alone (as the hair is covering it)
Male pattern balding is related to genetics. Greasy and oily skin may also be a genetic issue, but not related to the hair loss gene.
Oil control shampoos wouldn’t sell if only bald men had greasy skin.
But ask any dermatologist about skin oils – it’s likely to affect anybody regardless of their balding genetics.
The only issue you could state is that men who use androgenic steroids can see increased sebum production. If you have the genes for balding the increased DHT may have a correlation between increased skin oils and accelerated hair loss but this is just down to a similar hormonal level of DHT.
There are plenty of women with oily skin too few who have hair loss.
How oily your hair is has nothing to do with hair loss. The ” oily, shiny” on a bald head is sweat and other secretions more visible due to absence of hair
My scalp is pretty tight on top so shine on my head makes me pretty conscious of being a bald “greaser.” Whatever, the guy in this video is kinda in your face but he is right it is like walking around with a full head of hair only greasy. My wife will absolutley not touch my head when it looks wet. the video is on youtube just look for headdry when you search. another way to go is to use wipes on your head but ‘ve not hear one person in the blogs who says “oh yay that works.” I think the wipes dry too much and…. get this my tight scalp shines when it is dry from the wipe so I sometimes put talc but I am afraid to keep using talc cause it can absorb and cause cancer.
I have extremely oily skin on my forehead and nothing else seemed to work except for the Citrus Clear Control Wash. After using it, i felt like my skin could breath again! Thank you Citrus Clear! i just wish it diddn”t cost as much :(
I used to have the worst oily forehead! Always my forehead was shiney and I was so embarrassed! I now use the Citrus Clear Acne Wash daily and it is great at keeping an even skin tone and keeping those fine lines and wrinkles at bay. The product is all natural with no harmful chemicals so my daughter who struggles with acne uses it also and it has kept her acne under control for the last five years. No more oily forehead!!
