Blurred Vision from Minoxidil?
Hello, I’m using Rogain 5% and I’ve noticed some minor signs of blurred vision, mostly at farsighted objects.
Considering it may be a minox side effect, should I:
– Continue Rogaine 5% and wait weeks/few months because it it’s temporary (and not a really bad blurry vision) and will not damage my permanent vision.
– Change to Rogaine 2%
– Change To Rogaine Foam
– Quit using Rogaine? Thanks for your help and amazing blog
The purpose of this site is to educate, not to become a treatment substitute for your doctor. With that said, minoxidil is known to cause blurred vision. How you react to it is either to get medical advice from your doctor or experiment as you suggested above. As a doctor, I would want to know what you are treating, whether it is the best medication for you, what your goals are, etc.
Ok, sorry for that, I should have put that simpler.
Please just tell me, based on your real/statistical experience with your patients, if this side effect is temporary (no matter how long) or if it *can* damage my permanent vision, because my goals are really my hair at first, and I can live with this “blurred vision” if, obsiously, it will not cause real/permanent damage.
Thanks again, of course I’ll check my doctor, but sincerily I trust your wider experience much better…
i can tell you that i’ve been using minoxidil for 3 years now. My sight was getting from bed to worse. I couldn’t explain this nor the ophtalmologist. I’m decided to stop this shit, asap. it’s done actually, I know i’ll be bloody bold in year or two. But i prefer to be bold that to be blind. Actually, i wanted to look better i ended up not being able to look proprely.
Tell about your experience with your sight.
Your’s.

I have been using Minoxidil for 3 months with my vision continuing to get worse. I decided to search online regarding Minoxidil and vision. I found out numerous users have gotten blurred visions getting progressively worse from Minoxidil. I to like others threw it out. It would be nice if we were protected by the FDA by products that can literally make us go blind.
Sal – Possible vision problems are among known side effects, and if you read the literature included with the minoxidil it should be there. That’s the FDA protecting you, by forcing the companies to list this. It’s up to you to actually read it.
It probably says something like, “Minoxidil may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or changes in vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines.”
Yeah In my experience Minoxidil worsen the eye sight. First I didn’t believe, now after 2 years continuous use I realized it. Be cautious. Being bald is better than blind.
