Can Finasteride work on the hairline and the top of the scalp?

Does finasteride work for diffuse thinning on the top of the head as well as the upper corners of my forehead hairline thinning? Additionally, the thinned hair that remains on top of the head is fine hair. Do I have any chance of this working for me?

Once can never predict who and where finasteride will work. Experience shows it helps when hair is miniaturized and when the hair loss is more recent (generally speaking). Great results are not often seen in the frontal hairline, however with miniaturization present with recent hair loss, it may work better than with complete recession and no miniaturized hairs present in the hairline.
