Can I Liquify the Rogaine Foam?
Can you tell me if this could prevent minoxidil from working? Liquify the foam so you can apply it with a dropper. Fill the cap with foam. Hold the cap in a glass that’s filled with hot water. The foam will melt. Then apply with a dropper.
I do this because I get irritated by liquid Rogaine and I find that the foam doesn’t reach properly the scalp.
I haven’t heard of this being done before, but I’d think that this is a reasonable solution to your problem.
I am not a doctor or an expert but you need to look at two MSDSs. The one for Minoxidil 99% suggests that its decomposition temperature is 500F (https://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9926126) which is way above the temeperature to which you are planning to raise the foam’s temperature. The one for Rogaine Foam (https://www.setonresourcecenter.com/msdshazcom/htdocs/MSDS/Retail/M/MEN'S%20ROGAINE%20FOAM.pdf) does not give a decomposition temperature yet it mentions a Flash Point of 50F (from the added ethyl alcohol) which is low enough to classify Rogaine Foam as flammable. So the warming the foam won’t break down the Minoxidil but you are running the risk of warming the ethyl alcohol base in a way that it might combust. So you might end up creating a fire hazard for yourself.
I have been doing this for years since less minox gets caught in the hair.
