Men shouldn’t get forehead reductions because of the risk of more balding or recession which would leave you with a scar in the front of your head. A hair transplant lowering surgery is the best approach to this problem
A couple of guys whom I am 100% certain have gotten SMP, stand-up comedians Finesse Mitchell and Paul Virzi. Both of whom I’ve seen live and (because I have SMP and know what to look for) the stage lights immediately gave it away. I bring this up because these guys both have an online presence where you can look them up and see their before and afters. Virzi looks like he’s gotten his done in the last 6-12 months. Both of their results look great in my opinion, and Virzi in particular looks so much younger (he also appears to have lost some weight) — he looks great.
We do these all of the time, see here: https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/bold-shaved-look/

Originally Answered: Does vitamin deficiency cause hair loss?
Yes, it does. Your hair thrives on vitamins, but it can be hard to maintain optimum levels. The reason for that is because the sources for all of these vitamins can be so varied. It’s hard for most people to fit all the different foods in which all of these vitamins are found. Also, if you are lacking a significant amount of any single vitamin, your hair can be affected severely. Here is what each vitamin does for your hair.
vitamin A
Vitamin A is a natural vitamin that grows every cell in your body. Therefore it’s also one of the natural vitamins essential for hair growth. It is also responsible for allowing your scalp to moisturize itself by producing this oil called sebum. Without having sufficient amounts of it you’re sure to face hair loss. It can be found in foods like milk, eggs, and yogurt.
Vitamin B
Biotin, also known as Vitamin B, is one of the best vitamins for hair growth. It’s so essential to hair growth that it is also used to treat hair loss. Being deficient in vitamin B is nearly impossible because of how abundant it is in nature. It’s found in whole grains, almonds
Vitamin C
Out of all food vitamins for hair growth, this one is special because it essentially works as an anti-aging serum. That might be overselling it a bit, but essentially you get the point. Vitamin C produces collagen, which then prevents hair from aging. Great sources for this vitamin C include peppers, strawberries, and citrus fruits.
Vitamin D & E
Vitamin D isn’t really for hair growth, rather it’s to prevent hair loss. See, many of the food vitamins for hair growth are very straightforward, however, the role played by vitamin D in hair growth is not yet understood. All we know is low levels of vitamin D is also linked to hair loss. Vitamin E helps prevent the same kind of stress that vitamin C does. Sunflower seeds, almonds, avocados, and spinach are all great sources for vitamin E. Though it’s similar to C, it does not prevent aging.
So I’m getting 90 0.5mg pills delivered to me in the next few days and even though I only plan to apply topically, I’m still a bit worried about the half-life in the bloodstream. I’m hoping that very little will actually make it systemic, but it is much more potent than fin and last much longer. Does anyone have any experience with topical Dut???
You should be nervous. Sexual side effects are significant with this drug. see here: https://baldingblog.com/problems-with-long-term-dutasteride-include-increased-ed-and-alternations-in-glucose-and-lipid-metabolism/
Since the brain is androgen-dependent, and males do not stop fully developing mentally before age 26 and physically before age 22, wouldn’t supressing DHT with finasteride stunt growth in a male who hasn’t hit 26 yet?
Has anyone here taken finasteride in their late teens and still physically and mentally developed as normal? If so I’d love to hear more, just for encouragement as all the stories I’ve heard have scared me shitless, and I have yet to take fin from my unopened bottle on my desk.
Yes, there have been reports of brain fog in rare individuals. If you are one of them, stopping the finasteride is a good idea. There has been no evidence that taking finasteride for a man over 17, causes growth problems. As far as sexual side effects.this article I think gives an answer to that question: https://baldingblog.com/new-report-that-finasteride-does-not-cause-sexual-side-effects/
The most common cause of hair transplant failures in men are technical failures caused by the surgeon and his team unless there is an underlying skin disease present. As you know, the hair transplant process is a team effort requiring skills on many levels. Make sure that the next time try to find an experienced surgeon with an experienced team
I feel as though I’d rather recede than diffuse all over top. Just so it’s easier to estimate a future transparent. My hair is long on top and when dry, it looks thick like Joe Jonas hair. When wet you can see the diffuse thing and patchy areas. I’m only thinning on top. I do have a recede hair line in the temples, but it’s not bad/I’ve had it since I was 18 – with actually fully thick hair. I’m 25 now. Been on fin and min for almost a year.
You should see a doctor. Diffuse thinning is a difficult problem and needs an assessment by an expert, like me. I would do a HAIRCHECK to see if I would find a pattern to your hair loss thinning (https://baldingblog.com/haircheck-test-how-it-is-done-and-what-its-value/). To find one in your area see ISHRS.org.
If caught early enough Finasteride is the cure for hair loss. I was seriously losing over 100 hairs in the shower alone and hairline was receding. I’m back to a nw1 hairline. It truly is a cure.
I don’t mean to bust your bubble, but finasteride, when it works, is great but it is not a cure and genetic hair loss is a progressive process which you will see again sometime later in life.
i have sleep disturbances with fin for nearly 2 weeks … usually i sleep ( 9-10 ) hours now … i woke up in the middle of the night and i sleep just 4 or 5 hours and can’t continue and feel sleepy throughout the day … is there any chance that side effect disappear by time ? because it affects me in my work and in my life generally …. if i took fin before sleeping could that help ? .. or just quitting is the only solution ? … i need to know your opinions because i can’t live like that !
Sleep disorders with finasteride are not reported. This could be psychological.

Conclusions The risk of developing new onset type 2 diabetes appears to be higher in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia exposed to 5?-reductase inhibitors than in men receiving tamsulosin, but did not differ between men receiving dutasteride and those receiving finasteride. Additional monitoring might be required for men starting these drugs, particularly in those with other risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
Should I take minoxidil when I wake up and go to sleep or can I take it e.g at 5pm and 10pm
Wash your hair with a hot shower before bed and then use minoxidil just once a day. Wash it off in the morning
