Clobex and Seborrheic Dermatitis
I have been using Clobex shampoo and I was wondering if this medicine can permanently heal my Seborrheic Dermatitis. Also, I was wondering if my hair will grow back once it is healed.
Clobex is a powerful steroid and should not be taken for prolonged periods of time. This can cause hair loss as well and it will not be a permanent solution to seborrheic dermatitis unless you keep taking it. It is a double edged sword, so use it cautiously and temporarily.
I am only in my early 30s and found out my hair was thinning severely due to seborrheic dermatitis. I too was told by my doctor to use Clobex for 4 weeks (foam 2X per day for 2 weeks, shampoo 1X per day for 4 weeks). It seems to be helping the CONDITION, but increasing the hair loss. My doctor said this was temporary and my hair would grow back to pre-treatment/condition levels (although she wants me on continued medicated shampoos so the condition and related hair loss will not keep cycling…). However, this web page now has me concerned that my hair will not only get THINNER due to the Clobex, but I see no hope offered that the hair will grow back once the treatment with it has been completed. I think that is what the original poster (and myself) are looking to find here. Thank you so much…
