Do All Transplanted Hairs Grow At the Same Time?
Hello,
what is the maximum time that it takes for hair to grow after a hair transplant surgery? 6-14 months? please give me a range.do all the transplanted hair grow the same time?
It generally take 6-8 months for 80-90% of the hair to grow. About 95% of the growth should be seen in 12 (rarely 18) months.
The transplanted hair do not grow at the same time. They grow out in waves. I have personally seen complete hair growth as early as 2 months (in less than 5% of patients) and as late as 18 months for complete growth. Most fall within the 6 to 12 month range. This variability has to do with the individual and not the surgeon or technique itself.
I am in week 7 afer my HT and I am seeing plenty of fine new hairs in the left frontal area sprouting up while the right side shows not even a third of that growth. I realize that the transplanted hairs grow at different rates but the difference is too great to ignore. Another cause for concern is that the right side was also the first to shed(I noticed it as early as 10 days after the procedue) so I would assume it would have a ‘head start’ over the other side. I know that growth usually starts after 2 to 4 months but it still leaves the burning question: why has one area started to show this kind of growth and not the other? My worst fear is that many of the grafts placed in the right area were somehow inferior or died off. I have voiced this to my surgeon, who is very respected and well known, and he tells me to just wait for the full effect after 11 months.I just wanted to hear your opinion. Thank you
DONT BE ALARMED BRO….I HAD A 1640 SESSION ON JULY 21 OF THIS YEAR AND MY RIGHT SIDE TEMPLE AREA IS GROWING ALOT FASTER THEN MY LEFT…..I TOLD MY DOCTOR BUT HE SAID AND WAIT AND IT WILL CATCH UP…HE TOLD ME THATS NORMAL AND ALL HAIR ISNT EXPECTED TO GROW AT THE SAME RATE
