Doctors Checked for Causes of Hair Loss, But Did They Miss Anything?
Hi Dr. Rassman,
I’m a 23 asian male and started to notice that my hair was thining two years ago and now my scalp is visible. I have no family history of balding at all, so I have been trying to doctor myself by analyzing other causes of hairloss: diet, exercise, diabetes, lupus, infection, thyroid disorder etc., but to no avail. I went to a dermatologist, and he is just said I probably got the recessive gene for mpb. What do you think? What are other causes can I look at?
If you are not satisfied with the one doctor’s opinion that you got, seek out a second opinion. You need a doctor who will not only work out a diagnosis, but one that will also build a Master Plan for treating you over the next 10+ years to manage your hair loss. This is what I do at my offices in California. It could just be genetics, as that is a common cause for hair loss in men, but your question is really too difficult to answer, because I do not have you in front of me to make my own diagnosis.
