wouldn’t you say that changes in hormonal balances can cause weight gain though? look at birth control for example. i feel like a drug such as finasteride could have similar effects as it could potentially affect hormonal balances. how could you argue with that?
There’s no data to suggest that finasteride causes weight gain. The drug was studied extensively and there’s no weight gain side effect shown at all. Everyone is different, so I suppose anything is possible… but the chances are extremely unlikely. Look to other causes for your weight gain, such as a sedentary lifestyle, overeating, etc.
I think it’s a bit of simply said that people are fat because they eat too much. Most people I know that are fat are not big eaters and a few have alraedy tested to be positive for a slow thyroid, meaning their metabolism goes too slowly. As a thin person meself it is impossible for me to get fat even though i could eat 10 times a day. Like you say genes are involved much in hair loss, the same is often the case with the weight of people. I am not thin because I eat too little (I’m a guy) , but if a girl is thin, people think she has anorexia, while it is quite widely known guys do not like to be skinny, so why assume all girls are skinny because of anorexia? I think these presumptions are quite bad for people’s health, because if the media (and places like this site) all just say it’s because of eating, it will make fat people eat quite extreme dosages of food a day, and they will indeed loose fat. HOWEVER, people’s body DO need a certain amount of minerals and vitamines that is found in food (unless one takes supplements), so assumptions people are fat because they eat too much are in my opinion risky for public health. I think people will figure this out in 30 years or so, and untill that time be a bit ignorant about the whole thing…..o well..most people just assume without any knowledge about the related subject..so I guess that is in the genes as well!
