Hair Loss Worse on One Side of Head
I am clearly losing my hair and my right side is much worse than my left side, although the left side has the same problem, just not that bad. Could I be pulling on the right side when I brush my hair to the left too much?
Hair loss is rarely symetrical. Many people will notice one side is worse than the other. Based upon your email, you are combing it right to left. That means that the right side has more sun exposure than the left side and the sun exposed side generally has more ultra-violet damage than the other side which has been protected by the combed hair.
My question is: can hats cause baldness? I have heard that they are in no way related to losing your hair unless they are too tight and cut off circulation. However, I heard someone explain that if you wear a hat, sweat can accumulate in your hat, and your sweat contains DHT and if you have a predisposition to Baldness all the DHT coming into contact with your scalp can make you lose your hair even quicker than normal. Any truth to this?
