Hair Multiplication at Hair Science International?
Hi there,
My question is, have you heard of ‘Hair Science International’? I went to see them last week here in Melbourne Australia and they say they can take a sample of my hair from the back and multiply up to 70,000 hairs in a lab and transplant however much I need back into my head and it will stay for ever. I’ve seen some of the results and in terms of coverage it’s great. But I don’t know how well this technology works in recreating the natural hairline and what kind of survival rate it averages.
Should I avoid them or is it worth investigating them more? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thankyou.
If this company told you they could take a hair from the back of your head and multiply it to 70,000 hairs, then transplant it as needed (and their site says without surgery?)… then they’re either from the future or someone was giving you a line of bull.
My guess based on the photos on their site is that they sell fancy wigs and laser treatments. That’s the only way I could explain how they can call this “hair multiplication” but then in the same sentence say that it is non-surgical. Even then, they’re using “hair multiplication” in a completely misleading way. The technology doesn’t exist in the way you described. So either you misunderstood what they told you or they’re misrepresenting themselves. It’s not cloning or multiplication.

I would be happy to read and review evidence that supports any claims about growing 70,000 hairs in a lab for transplantation back into the scalp, but until that time I’ve closed the ability to comment on this post due to complaints.
THEY SAY:
Hair Science International performs Non Surgical Hair Restoration procedures ranging from Cosmetic Follicle Replacement and Non Surgical Hair Transplanting to more complex procedures via the technology of the emerging science of Non Surgical Dermatological Epidermis applications.
Translated into English: They attach a wig to your head.
You are absolutely right it looks just like a wig. My advice to you is don’t do it! They use diffent words in order to mislead you. We were misled!! It doesn’t matter how many questions you ask, they always have an answer – a lie. Good luck!!
HAIR SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL OF MELBOURNE AUSTRALA – KEEP CLEAR OF THEIR OVERPRICED WIGS *** SCAM ***********SCAM***********
Hi All
I have read your threads below and I can confirm for you the following. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I visited Hair Science International In Melbourne Australia. I was told that from the one hair follicle that was taken from my head, 70 000 strands of my own hair would be regrown in America. Through vanity I was excited about the prospect and paid up BIG Mistake , What I recieved was a $70 hairpiece of inferior quality that is made in China. to confirm comments previous to this you are required to visit Hair Science Intertional every 4 weeks to have your hair re glued and washed at a cost of $70 a visit. Hair science Intertional continue the spin that it’s your own hair – I can tell you it’s not and the hair piece even has a serial number that signifies which country the hair piece it was produced in. Yes SPORTSMEN only endorse because they get it for free. PLEASE HEED THIS ADVICE KEEP AWAY FROM CLINICS LIKE THIS AND IF YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED SPEAK UP BETTER TO BE FOLLICLY CHALLENGED THAN FINACIALLLY CHALLENGED . There is no such position as a hair loss specialist. HAIR SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL OF MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA NO! NO! NO! – THEY DON’T GROW YOUR REAL HAIR – DONT EVEN VIST FOR A CONSULTATION – YOUR HAIR FOLLICLE CANNOT BE REGROWN INTO 70 000 HAIR STRANDS OF YOUR OWN.
PLEASE SPEAK UP
hairloss at hair science of melbourne
i initially did treatment with ashley and martin that did not work,
i decided to have my hair restored, guys no crap it works i have hair and no effect on my lifestyle, ie Im a semi pro runner.
yes there is a lot of crap out there, after seeing the afl players guerra and others its the way to go, ive got hair 85% restored and no more lotions and pills every night.
Im a happy client. Better to have hair than be bald! My brother is now doing it with hair science too as he lost money with ashley and martin too. Thought id spread some cheer from a guy who’s happy,
brett
If treatment option did not work with Ashley and Martin why did you not ask them to transfer you onto the surgical option. The way they conduct business is that if treatment does not work then they will transfer any funds you have spent to get a transplant done. You could have saved some dollars and got the same result.
You’re absolutely right, Richard! That’s why they have those options in place, so those funds can go towards transplant surgery. From all the time I’ve spent researching and reviewing, transplanting is usually the best route for most people. Especially when you get try treatment first, like at most places!
I too believed the hype and feel scammed by Hair Science International. Is anyone out there aware of any action I can take? I don’t want to be forced to pay $70 every month to peel off the glued on piece and wash it. I was told I may attend them for ‘haircuts’ only. Totally stitched up. Is there legal action available?
I agree R MAN, I was scammed nicely by them. Possibly my fault for not doing the proper research. HairScience International took a sample of my hair then they told me it would take 6 weeks to grow. I came back and found they had a wig for me. I don’t know how AFL players put up with it, it is itchy, comes undone easily and you can’t travel for more than two or three weeks before the glue starts coming undone. I can easily tell David Hale and Brent Guerra are wearing wigs, their hair looks totaly unnatural.
I’m investigating legal action Tom. They told me and continue to tell me it is my hair…… and it grows… spare me – enough is enough. Wish I found this site before I signed up.
If you’re interested let me know and we’ll get in touch.
r man get in contact with me. i want to close down these pricks. They blateny lie to you in the face. I fell for it, they said to me the hair will grown and its my own hair! my arse even the receptionists are in on it

who do you see in the before and after images???
Yep I am keen to find out if there are any options as well. Can’t believe how many lies they have said. If there are any legal options I reckon we try and take them down so they can stop ripping off people.
G’day r man, I am keen to pursue action against these guys. Let me
know if you know how to go about this to stop these scammers.
Hair Science International is a SCAM! and the whole world needs to know about it.
I posted the original question here and am so glad to see that others have been able to share their experiences.
I am so livered to see that these guys are still around scamming poor vulnerable guys out of their hard earned savings. These people should be in jail. They need to be stopped!!! I can’t believe they are on TV again this month…..arghhh the nerve!
Just the thought that I went there for a consultation and shook the mans hand makes me feel sick!
RMan, you should do everything in your power to take legal action. I’m sure there’s a loop hole that these horrible people have found, but it worth talking with a lawyer about it and seeing if there’s a way to block them from exploiting it. And get your money back!
Good luck and make sure you speak up about it all over the net. Forums, blogs anything…just post your experience and see if you can contact others who have been scammed by them too.
Good luck!
How are they still in business? Do we not have any rights?

sorry email is yamasaki@live.com.au
I can’t thank you people enough….i’m one of the lucky ones..i sat in his office while he told me they were going to put 70,000 hairs onto my head using a new scalp system that removes the old dead skin and replaces it with new skin that holds “my” newly grown hair…..he had me in until he said so what do you think and i said yeah i reckon it’s for me…..next minute he’s hitting me up for a $3,000 deposit on the spot!!!! which really made me think hang on a minute he’s a bit keen to get the dosh…so i bought myself a couple of weeks by telling him i needed some time to find the money….so glad i did because now i’ve got the truth i’ll be certainly telling him to stick his wig up his arse…..never was the word wig used or glued on hair piece or anything like that…..it was going to be my hair……every 4-6 weeks i had to return to have my hair “styled” by the girls…….thankyou all very, very much for your honesty…….
any updates?

Hello all,
I’m from Channel 7 and doing an investigation into hair loss treatments. Pretty much an a-z of what’s out there. I want to include some of the more negligent examples as well and was hoping that I’d be able to give you a platform to be able to voice the scams you feel you’ve been through.
Please email me and let me know your stories. juliaholmes@seven.com.au

Man i wish i did read it before!
just 3 weeks ago i went to ashley and martin, and i have been sold a good deal wiht gurantee return of my hair back.
now when i see the actual doctor Terri on this week , i was amaze as i have been told the treatment include minoxidel and finestride. which i told them i have been trying for last 6 years.
Now but i am stuck in signing with them , and now looking to get my money back , as i have not been told at intial stage what medicine i will be given. I’ll certainly not started if i know they giving the same which i was using from last 6 years.
DO anyone know how to claim my money back. i spent $3700 .
I went to ashely and martin in melbourne on exibition st.
Hi all i also fell for the hair science scam last year. It was the worst experience ever. The wig was not even close to my hair colour and it peeled of easily once it got wet or sweat. Anyway i went to his office and sat with him and listened to his bull, i refused to leave until i got a refund and came close to ripping his wig off his head, which scared him and before i knew it he write me a cheque. He didnt give me a full refund i was still 1500 short, but he did there latest stunt on me which was again a wig but with a thinner membrane. Same shit, i let them put it on and i soon pulled it off. I never went back and they never contacted me but i have since had a transplant with NHI and i would recomend it to anyone who wants there real hair back. Its the only way.
I would like to see him out of business and i would like to help anyone who needs statements etc……
Hey I got screwed by advanced hair and went for consultation at hair science.
Does laser actually work?
I will be taking legal action against Hair Science International, anyone interested in joining with me in a class action, please contact through the following email: hsclassaction@hotmail.com
Hi Guys,
I wished I had visited this site before paying money to HS International. they did not tell me anything about the glue – just re-visit in 4 to 6 weeks and we’ll recondition the hair.
Yep a scam, they tell you they grow it in US) and come back in 6 weeks. They tell you to grow your hair so it matches (the wig matches). So no shaving the head therefore you look like Jonny Howard (crusty the clown). Also, they want you to pay a big deposit up front in the $1k. We should get current affiar on to them… Yes wig wig wig?? The laser might might work but only good for guys who are in the early stages.
I would be happy to read and review evidence that supports any claims about growing 70,000 hairs in a lab for transplantation back into the scalp, but until that time I’ve closed the ability to comment on this post due to complaints.
