I Had Dreadlocks for 2 Weeks Before I Spent 7 Hours Brushing Them Out
I just brushed out dreadlocks after having them for 2 weeks. It took seven hours to brush them out. In the process, i lost alot of hair and alot was broken off. My hair now looks fine but is quite thinner from its original really thick state. My hair is about shoulder blade level, just wondering if the hair will grow back and i will regain my thickness and how long this would take?
The hair loss that associated with dreadlocks is called traction alopecia, if you would have the dreads over a long period of time. The one time brushing of your hair where you may have pulled out a great deal of hair (which has given you the thin appearance you describe), should not be permanent. Hair growth should occur over the next 2-5 months.
