Ibuprofen and Propecia?
I’ve been using Propecia for approximately 7 years with great results. When I first started using it I had quite a bit of hair come back, and have maintained everything since. Just recently I have experienced what seems to be more than normal shedding, but I have yet to notice any visible change.
The only change that I can think of is that my doctor has recommended I take Ibuprofen due to something similar to carpal tunnel syndrome (600mg, twice a day). I’ve taken Ibuprofen for other reasons before, but just not as much and with the same frequency. Could this be causing the problem, or is it likely to be something else?
Yes, ibuprofen can cause hair loss. I would doubt that the Propecia will help you for the ibuprofen effect. For more on hair loss and ibuprofen, see American Osteopathic College of Dermatology – Telogen Effluvium Hair Loss.
I have had a slow recession of mpb for 10 yrs, but i have been addicted to nurofen plus for 2 yrs 8 – 16 tablets a day, ( i have a legitamit reason to use it, migraines, and constant sinus headaches, but have got locked in a cycle of rebound and addiction) and feel i the ibuprofen is really starting to thin my hair.
If i am correct, if i was to stop tommorrow, will my hair get better (as in return to the slow pattern of mpb?) or will it just not get any worse?
i have started finasteride 6 months ago, so this is also making me shed, but i think the ibuprofen is making it much worse.
Good post. I learn something new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon every
day. It’s always interesting to read through content from other writers and use a little something from other sites.
