I’ve been asked about this at least a couple times before (here, here), but I frankly do not know the answer in humans. The mouse story is told in the reference. Male pattern baldness (MPB) is related to genetics, not green tea. I doubt that it would cause your hair loss to increase. Enjoy your […]

I would add that you should not go outside during the day after your surgery due to antioxidant effects from the sun. Also not driving your car for the first year after the surgery due to the risk of car accidents, which can cause great stress. Perhaps meditating for an hour a day in a […]
Snippet from the non-hair-loss article: Read the rest – Green Tea Reduced Inflammation, May Inhibit Prostate Cancer Tumor Growth, Research Finds This small study of 67 men with known prostate cancer showed a significant reduction in serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and prostate tissue PSA protein expression in those that consumed green tea. It seems to […]
We’ve answered a similar question before — here. In my opinion, green tea doesn’t cause or prevent hair loss. I am sure if you do enough research on the web you will find conflicting reports on almost anything. You can continue enjoying your cup of green tea.
I have covered this before, so it is best to refer you to these past posts: Soy and Propecia Could Green Tea Counteract Propecia? To sum it up, I don’t believe there’s been any proven links to soy and green tea causing problems with Propecia (finasteride 1mg).
It is possible, but probably not at reasonable doses of green tea.
Saw palmetto does not work the same way as finasteride, and hair growth with it is less predictable. It is always good to live healthy and have a low cholesterol diet. Any good thing in excess can be bad for you (such as overdosing on vitamin A). If the regimen you outlined works for you, […]
I do not know if and what damage could have been caused by your treatments. I can not tell if this was just a possible coincidence or not. It’s just too vague to possibly know without an examination. The causes for female hair loss are numerous, and you can find a good starting point here.
I do not know of any studies that shows green tea affects 5a-reductase type I or type II enzymes. I have heard of many positive benefits of green tea, but even those claims are not well substantiated to my knowledge. It may sound dismissive or pessimistic, but herbal products are an unregulated field (since they […]
What should scare you more is letting the hair be lost while you, as an amateur, try to do what hair professionals do every day. You need a diagnosis (even more important for you, because your genetic family line is unknown) and you need your scalp mapped out for miniaturization to find out if you […]
Snippet from the article: Read the rest — Kate teases William over thinning hair at Sydney Royal Easter Show Over the years, many patients have come to our office to have hair transplants because of such teasing by family. This is not uncommon.
The full article can be found here — Eureka! Father and son make hair grow with magic beans While interesting, I really don’t know the value of green tea or green coffee beans, so it is difficult to comment. While both the green tea and coffee claim antioxidant properties, that should not produce hair growth. […]
I have been asked over the past 20+ years if there is any dietary supplement that can be taken to treat Genetic hair loss. I have always said the answer to this question is NO. Now a recent article in the Journal of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology published a pilot study suggesting that maybe there […]
You performed hair surgery on me in 2009. I thought you might be interested in something I’ve discovered. Since 2009, I have been taking Finasteride. It was very effective in stopping hair loss, and even regrowing some of the more recent hair losses. The problem was that after several years of taking the drug, my […]
1) The existing finasteride based DHT blocking drugs (including Avodart, dutasteride) are known to cause birth defects that can create ambiguous genitalia when women take the medication. When men take the medication it is not related to birth defects. If someone is still worried about this, you can stop taking the medication and it would […]
