Insulin costs for the consumer is 10 times or more the cost to produce it
This morning, Eli Lilly announced its earnings for the third quarter of 2019: $5.5 billion dollars. In the same time period, people died because they couldn’t afford their insulin — a medication Eli Lilly sells and charges $275 for, despite it costing $21 in 1996. That is bad business for the consumers.
