Irritated Skin After Short Haircut Is Now Becoming a Big Bald Spot

About 6 weeks ago i went to a hair salon in the local mall, as the hairdresser was trimming my hair with the clippers(no guards installed)he somehow managed to buzz my head right down to the scalp leaving an inch and a half square bald patch, the skin was very red and irritated also.

Being a patient guy i figured i would just wait until it grew back. Now the patch is twice as big as it was origionally and seems to be growing, it is very embarrasing on a day to day basis, what could be causing it to get bigger? and i am i destined to get hair implants or shave my head completely? I never ever had any hair problems prior to this inccident, and i would really feel better if i thought there was hope that it would grow back.

Unless your hair stylist buzzed off the skin and the follicles underneath it, your hair should grow back. Without an actual examination, it is impossible to say what really is going on. You should see a doctor if the problem does not resolve.
