Is Dettol Decreasing My Hair Loss?
hi,
well doc,i just wanna say is dettol (chloroxylenol) good for hair or not…?i know its a cleansing agent but a few days back i mixed it with my shampoo(sunsilk) and washed my hair with it,i repeated it for several days and noticed quite a good decrease in my hair loss…is dettol safe for hair,i think it is because i havent faced any problems with using it rather a decrease in my hair loss but what do you say about it….?
From Wikipedia: “Dettol (also called parachlorometaxylenol, or PCMX) is the name of a commercial liquid antiseptic belonging to a product line of household products”…
Although diluted dettol on the hair is reportedly a home remedy in some countries for getting rid of dandruff, I don’t see how it can possibly halt hair loss.
We at Dandruff Directory agree – we don’t think it is a solution for hair loss.
I used to buy dettol mouthwash which was the best disinfection for my sour trouth, but I can’t find it any more in the market. basikly what i’m asking is how could I find it or any substitute?
Actually, its quite feasible that the Dettol could stop your hair loss if the hair loss is a result of some kind of bacterial or fungal growth on the scalp. Dettol is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, so with a few days of repeated use it could certainly kill off the bacteria or fungus responsible for any hair loss resulting from poor health of your hair/scalp.
Yes, dettol helps a bit in combating hair fall
sometimes hair loss is due to a poor immune system and a healthy one. One of the best ways to boost your immune system is with a healthy diet, and after much research, you will find that one of the highest immune boosting quality ‘foods’ is cinnamon. make sure it is real cinnamon i.e. ‘ceylon’ and not cassia as cassia contains toxins. I have tried dettol on my scalp and i have to say that it helped give it a soothing effect but it cannot sort out problems on the inside which may be the reason for your hair loss in the first place. Look into herbs, foods and spice like cinnamon to really give your health a boost. x
I agree, if you have fungus on your scalp or an infection that is causing the hair loss, then Dettol would very conceivably help. Fungal infections of the scalp are not always obvious or severe- they can take the form of very small bumps or not even visible to the naked eye. You may have it without knowing it.
Amazing ,I can’t believe dettol can be used as an anti dandruff.
But when I used dettol it shows great result.I think it is better than any anti dandruff sampoo.
Thanks for your information.:)
Hello all :)
I would like to share my experience i had using dettol. I had a severe hair loss after i straightened my hair fro 2 years.. I have used home remedies to professional products but nothing worked,A friend of mine suggested me to use dettol when bathing.so i did and i understood the reason. Dandruff is a fungal infection and dettol is bacteria destroyer so,Logically understood that it kills dandruff …It did work..Instead of using expensive products Try dettol once fr dandruff,You will be happy for sure :) Thank me later :)
