Is There Mold or Toxin In My Home Causing Female Hair Loss?
(female) Hi, I started noticing my hair thinning for the past 2 years but it has been really getting thin the last couple of months. I’ve had blood tests and all have come back normal. Now I have noticed that my 8 year old daughter is thinning. Could there we something in our home causing it? Mold or other toxin? Or something we are eating? I am very concerned. I would really love to hear your opinion.
First, your daughter needs to be checked out by a good doctor familiar with hair disorders and/or dermatology. I would not jump to toxins as my first diagnosis, but this needs to be evaluated by a competent doctor in-person, and not over the Internet. It could be a variety of possibilities, from nutrition problems to disease, but an examination must take place.
Could be something in your home environment causing hair loss. Yes, mold can cause this. If it is fungal, rinsing your hair in white vinager has been reported to stop the hair loss. All one does is wash their hair in the shower and then pour the vinager on it. Rub it into the scalp. Let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes. And then rise your hair. If it works, great. If it doesn’t work, no harm done. People used to wash their hair in vinager all the time. If it is going to work, you should notice the difference within about 3 days.
Hi,
In reading your blog, you sound just like me. I am having hairloss and so are my daughters. I am trying to figure out what is causing it. I know this was posted a while back and am wondering what came of your situation. Im sure along with myself and others out there with the same problem, and info you give would be helpful. Thank you!
