As long as you take it daily, the time of the day will not matter.

As I’ve written before, there is no documented adverse effect of Propecia on the kidneys. Elevated creatinine is something that you should understand. I’ve written about that before as well, here. What I generally do is first repeat the test in the case that the lab test is in error. Then your doctor will dive […]
Snippet from the article: Read the rest — Bradley Cooper’s ‘Hustle’ Against Hair Loss! Actor Has ‘Turned to Propecia’ To Battle Baldness It works for celebrities and non-celebrities alike.
If you’re trying to treat a receding hairline, either medication isn’t likely to regrow the frontal region, though it’s not impossible. Propecia is a prescription medication, so you should see a doctor to learn more about it. Minoxidil is available over the counter, but does most of it’s regrowth in the crown (which you said […]
You’ll probably end up with the same hair loss that you would’ve seen had you never taken the medication. It could take months before the hair loss catches up after you stop taking Propecia, but we do call it “catch-up hair loss” for a reason.
What you perceive and what is real may be completely different. You need to follow up with your doctor. Hopefully you doctor took some pictures or took some objective measurements (such as a bulk analysis or a miniaturization study) to validate what you may be experiencing. With respect to your eyebrow issue, I do not […]
I don’t think I’ve met anyone who complained about experiencing premature ejaculation from Propecia (finasteride). I don’t see anything in the medical literature about it either, based on a few quick searches. It’s easy for people to pin random side effects onto finasteride, such as too much sensitivity, too little sensitivity, premature ejaculation, no ejaculation, […]
You really should pose this question to your doctor (who has examined you and has a treatment plan for you). I don’t know enough about your hair loss history to be able to give you an idea about your possible successes, but in general, Propecia can be good for the crown and top areas with […]
You need an examination of your breast tissue if you think you have gynecomastia. While it is a very rare potential side effect of Propecia, gynecomastia can even occur in young men who are NOT on Propecia. Having only taken the medication for a couple of weeks, it would seem even more unlikely. That said… […]
I have not had any patients in the years I’ve been prescribing Propecia that developed heart related side effects. If you have heart related issues, you need to speak with your doctor ASAP. It probably is unrelated to Propecia and can be a very serious medical condition.
I’m glad to hear you’re cancer free now! I am not aware that there is a link between testicular cancer and Propecia. I also am not aware of brothers having the same testicular cancer, but there is literature on twins and testicular cancer in this meta-analysis (though unrelated to Propecia/finasteride use). I would expect in […]
First, hair length won’t make the hair regrow faster or slower. Propecia doesn’t always grow new hair, though it can thicken existing miniaturized hair. If your hair is short, I suppose you will be able to see new hairs (if there are new hairs that grow)… but I doubt you are that observant to see […]
I’ll break your questions out to make it easier to answer — 1- Does medicine like propecia and minoxidil (medicine with the potential of regrowing hair) operate in cycles? ANSWER: Probably not 2- Are my small hairs shedding in order to make way to healthier, thicker hairs? ANSWER: I doubt that is the case 3- […]
What you describe sounds like “catch-up” hair loss. When you stop taking Propecia (finasteride 1mg) the hairs that benefited from the medication will fall out and you will catch up to where you would have been if you never took the Propecia. The hair loss will not be any worse off than if you never […]
What you are describing is nothing new, but in my experience it doesn’t work. I don’t know that topical finasteride has been studied enough (perhaps it was studied and didn’t work), but the minoxidil by itself likely did most of the regrowth for your friend. There was a product that was sold up until a […]
