It is important for me to not only see some men who have had a full head of hair created by hair transplants, but to talk to them so that I can understand their decision process and what the experience was like. Looking at pictures is a sterile, non-personal process. The appearance of a thick […]

You have classic donor site depletion resulting from over-harvesting the grafts considering your donor density. The surgeon did not know what he/she was doing and clearly pushed your donor area well beyond what the blood supply could support and probably what your original density was. From what I see, this looks like you had too […]
Scarring from FUE is common. If it bothers you, the best treatment is Scalp Micropigmentation. I don’t know how many grafts you received, but if it exceeded 3,500 FUE grafts, it is likely that you were over-harvested. We have performed SMP on many people with all types of donor scars including for FUE, see here: […]
The FUE is not scarless as it will produce some small, punctated scars. If the surgeon uses a small punch instrument, the scars will be small, but with a razor shaved head, the scars will show. We have performed SMP for patients with FUE or strip scars. Many of these people can now shave their […]
The man above researched our practice and found Scalp Micropigmentation. He wanted to know if this would work for him since scars from accidents and brain surgery are very difficult to treat. He seems to have an elevated scar in the middle of other scars, which could be flattened with steroid injections prior to having […]
The scarring is related to the size of the instrument used by your doctor. When the punch is 0.9mm or less, the scars are less prominent. If you have scars as some people do, regardless of the surgical technique, then Scalp Micropigmentation is a solution to “wipe” them out visually. We do this all of the […]
My hair loss started 3.5 years ago as I turned 50. Now I have half my density. Labs show subclinical hypothyroidism, elevated antibodies, a high estradiol to progesterone ratio of 170 to 0.2, and free testosterone high at 5.6. Zinc level (AP) always low. My doctor blames all symptoms, including hair loss, weight gain, loss of […]
This is exactly the type of hair loss I have, but I also have extreme total hairline recession and miniaturization. I first noticed the loss of nape hair, and thereafter loss of density and complete recession of every area of the hairline. I have miniaturization throughout my entire scalp, but the emphasis seems to be […]
I was born in 1965 with a bald spot on upper left scalp. It has never changed. My mother checked about hair replacement when I was a child, but because I had no hair follicles, they could not help. I am now almost 53 and have dealt with it. Never looked into it further though. Have […]
Hello everyone, I was born in 1982, and I have the same bald spot on the back right side of my head. Everyone in school would laugh and joke about it. When I was 15, they said is would become cancer and have to cut it out. The doctors also said that once I cut it […]
Scars like this are usually the result of an overly aggressive surgeon who removed a strip too wide, and the tension may have been too high when he closed the wound. Alternatively, a very elastic collagen is present in some people which can produce stretching of the wound. In this case, the wound reflects your genetic make-up […]
The patient above had both strip and FUE surgery. He had scars from both procedures. We performed Scalp Micropigmentation in the morning, and this is what he looked like just 6 hours later. The pinkness in the repair will resolve within a day.
Alopecia areata is not always curable. It can come and go with treatment, stopping while being treated and then returning as you seem to disclose. This is not atypical for this disease, and it is something that you may have to learn to live with. The beard area can be treated very nicely with scalp micropigmentation.
I did an FUT in 2010. I was told by a respectable clinic in Turkey that I can do a second FUT, where the old scar will be cut and the surgeon will perform an incision on top of scar and remove it. So, instead of old scar, I will have a newer thinner one. […]
I have been using Minoxidil for around 2 years, and I started taking Finasteride 9 months ago but my hair fall is somewhat the same. My hairs are shedding when I dry my hair with towel or rub it between my hands. Does stress increases hair fall? How do I resolve this problem? Genetic hair loss […]
