I am the doctor who pioneered FUE between 1996-2002, publishing the first journal article on the subject in 2002 as a result of 6 years of experimental work with many cooperative patients. I am the original inventor of he hair transplant robot holding two US Patents on it. I licensed the robot technology to Restoration […]

If I was to get a hair transplant but my hairloss progressed to the point I had to shave my head how visible would the scarring be at the back? Would I have visible white dots on the back of my head or do they fade Scarring from FUE is inevitable; however, the amount of […]
If one decided to only do FUE transplants, are you greatly reducing your potential lifetime donor area capabilities? There is a safe limit with FUE that depends upon your donor density and your hair mass index. That is what a good examination will tell you
So 4 years ago i received a Hair transplant. It went pretty good but in the end i would have wished to make it more dense. I started microneedling and minoxidil since the hair further back is a bit thinner. Nothing dramatic but i was wondering if hair could grow back on the spots of […]
The way you will find out is to give it some time. Shock loss will usually reverse in under 6 months while permanent changes will not
This photo contains Follicular Units that were excised from the donor area using two different techniques. The graphic at the top identifies all of the elements of a single Follicular Unit. This particular follicular unit has two hairs, one is what I am calling a ‘telogen’ hair (shorter hair below the skin is either starting […]
Im not a huge fan of this look, but I know people with no hair loss who shave the sides of their heads to the skin and then grow out the top a bit. I generally do more of a fade rather than complete shaving, but would consider this look if I don’t have a […]
I have some criticisms: (1) the crusting should have been washed off immediately after the surgery so that you are normal looking, and (2) the harvest was extended beyond the permanent zone of the donor area, something that should not be done.
A lot of FUE hair transplants are starting to look flawless and seems way easier to maintain then going the pill, minox, dermarolling routine everyday. I think the price is starting to go down as it becomes more widely available as well. At what cost of a transplant would you just do that once instead of the […]
I just scheduled an FUT procedure that is estimated for about 2500–3000 grafts in my crown, with any extra going to the corners of my hairline. About 18 days after the procedure, I have a two-week-long unavoidable work obligation where I will need to interact with clients in-person. (Aside from this obligation, I can work […]
Yes, dot scars are a consequence of FUE. ALL cuts into the human body produces scars. If your surgeon used a small punch of .95mm or less, the scars are barely visible. Larger punches create larger white dots. Sometimes the scars just stretch and become larger. Fixing it can be effectively treated with Scalp Micropigmentation
How long does it take to work? There is no standard answer. I have seen men that showed great results in 6 weeks, and others with no results in a year when they had a poor surgeon or surgical team.
Sometimes the wounds stretch or the instruments that are used are large. These scars show up on any short haircut and even with longer hair. The only good treatment for this is Scalp Micropigmentation.
I have terrible scabbing just 3 days after my FUE. I haven’t touched the area, what should I do. Use a surgical sponge to wash it by rolling over the grafts, back to front. If you don’t keep the scabbing away, they form in the first three days and won’t come off for 2-4 weeks. […]
Let’s say that you get a hair transplant, and because you’re not happy with the results, you decide to shave your head completely after a few years. Will the scars from the hair transplant be visible on the back of your bald head? Yes, of course it will. FUE produces small white scars scattered in […]
