Good question and I wish I knew the answer. This company has many good products and appears to be a good investment on their main line offerings. Be sure to check them out properly. If you believe that the company will live or die on cloning hair, don’t hold your breath.

Just because phase I trials were completed, it does not necessarily mean the technology is valid. Phase II and phase III still need to be completed, then followed by FDA trials. Based on the Intercytex presentation at the ISHRS meeting I attended last month in San Diego, phase II trials should be completed by the […]
I was at the ISHRS conference in San Diego a week ago and more importantly to your question, I was in attendance for the Intercytex presentation at this event. It was stated that the phase II trials will end in 2008. Intercytex’s presentation, while enthusiastic, did not include any human volunteer examples or mention a […]
Best to check with the company, Intercytex. This type of research has been on going for some time.
If a doctor thinks that he can find a stem cell on you and move it to your head in the hope that it will grow hair (it actually might) then the doctor may be allowed to do this if he does this in his office. He has to pay attention to the medical licensing […]
I have no particular inside knowledge about this company. I read the press releases just like everyone else. To address your curiosity on phases for drug development and what it means, see: Phases of Product Development Hair Cloning Timelines: In 1987, Dr. Colin Jahoda first cloned hair. When that happened, the excitement was wonderfully high […]
Drs. Nilofer, Bessem Farjo and Paul Kemp wrote an article for the Hair Transplant Forum in this past issue discussing an innovative approach to hair “cloning”. For years (as early as 1991) the anticipation of breakthroughs in hair cloning has been on the horizon, ‘always within the next 5 years’. But every half decade, another […]
Bosley’s parent company Adarans, stopped funding one of the very promising solutions for hair loss a couple of years ago. A few other companies have dropped their hair research efforts. Intercytex seems to have nothing on their website that indicates activity in the hair arena. It does seem that the failures to achieve good hair […]
I don’t have the answer to your question. Ten years ago, we were told that the answers would be seen in under 5 years… and now a decade later we hear the same thing. That says much about the real answer. It’s still a big question mark, though there’s some progress being made.
The following post is by UK-based physician Dr. Bessam Farjo: Written by: Dr Bessam Farjo United Kingdom I’m often asked about the ICX-TRC Cell Therapy Human Clinical Trial and whether or not it was successful. For those of you who don’t know, the trial was (in very simple terms) the development of a therapy whereby […]
As I’ve said many times before (which is usually met with much criticism by some readers that think they know better), I wouldn’t hold my breath. We all want to wait for the next breakthrough, the next best thing, the next version, etc. The idea of being able to clone hair for infinite supply is […]
Follica hasn’t been too forthcoming with information. I don’t believe anything has been announced as far as a name, though I’d assume there are some codenames at the very least that they use internally. According to their site, “Follica, Inc. is developing novel therapies for conditions and disorders of the hair follicle“. To me, that […]
The following response is by UK-based physician Dr. Bessam Farjo: Response by: Dr Bessam Farjo United Kingdom Pangaea is a company I have known for about 10 years which started out making a scalp fibres camouflage product called Nanogen which we sell on to some of our patients. They have become involved in a variety […]
I do not know the answers to your questions. I would assume that there will be training in whatever the technology evolves into, but as it is not final yet, there is no way to tell. Usually drug companies come out with the product and the process and doctors become qualified to use it. Take […]
