We addressed the subject of FDA regulation with hair lasers many years ago here and here. The FDA never really approves such a device confirming that it grows hair, but in this case they cleared it to be safe for sale. It is unfortunate that some doctors seem to promote the idea that such devices […]

The following is just my personal opinion. In my practice I have offered lasers and have carried out limited trials on various lasers offered. I got these lasers free so I tested them on my patients and did not charge them for these treatments. I saw no consistent benefits from the lasers in most of […]
We just got the most up-to-date laser hair removal system in our office (The Laser Vectus System) and I stepped up to the plate as one of the earliest patients with this very new technology. My target was my back hair, my neck hair and most significantly my ear hair. I am sure you can […]
I found a copy of the study online HERE. If you read the conclusion (at the end) it states there was some statistical improvement after a 6 month study comparable to Rogaine or Propecia use. But in the long term (over a year) Rogaine and Propecia was better. The conclusion also stated: “A higher percentage […]
Snippet from the article: The article continues… Read the rest — The helmet that can cure BALDNESS (allegedly): $800 headgear uses lasers on the scalp to stimulate hair growth and thickness I’m going to go with Dr. Farjo on this one — I’m skeptical until I see actual proof, as the claims that it can […]
Conclusion from the study: Read the rest — Efficacy and Safety of a Low-level Laser Device in the Treatment of Male and Female Pattern Hair Loss I have not been a fan of this modality, though I am now inclined to be more open minded in using this after reading the study published in the […]
The results will not be analyzed for a full year from the time the study was started. I expect to see results from the study in the summer of 2014.
I am by no means an expert in laser tattoo removal, but I don’t see how a targeted laser to remove pigment on your shoulder could cause any impact to your scalp hair (transplanted or otherwise). I wouldn’t be concerned.
The 3 month visits are just starting, so we do not have an update yet. Sorry!
The pigment we use for Scalp MicroPigmentation (SMP) is reversible with laser pigment removal; however, it may require more than one treatment. There is also a risk for hair loss with the laser pigment removal. A while back, we were made aware of an ink that was reportedly able to be removed with one laser […]
Transplants are an ideal treatment for such a problem. The laser hair removal process will not impact future hair regrowth from a transplant in that area.
Since I personally do not believe the Laser Comb works for treating hair loss, I would not think there would be any positives or negatives associated with stopping its use… aside from the extra time you save everyday to do other things.
Laser hair transplantation was used in the 1990s, which had a laser cut into the skin, then the grafts were placed into these laser-created wounds. The wounds produced a surface that would not allow the grafts to be held into place, so they just slipped out. Also, the laser burned the skin at the wound […]
I don’t believe it for a moment. I suspect that this lady had chemotherapy and lost her hair, then after a time, it grew back. I also suspect that doctor (?) or clinic involved in the process took the credit for what would have happened anyway.
Most people will see the newly transplanted hair fall out and go through a dormant phase before regrowing months later, but some will see those grafts just start growing without going dormant. I am confused by what you’re describing about pulling grafts out months after surgery. After 7 months you should see some hair growth […]
