I started balding when I was 14 (yes 14), my hair was miniaturising on one side so I used minoxidil until I was 18, (which helped) But even when I was 17, one of my friends noticed that my crown was thinning. When I was 18 I used finasteride for a year (didn’t improve my […]

Once I see that, I can tell you your birth hair count and your donor supply for your lifetime if you should elect […]
I am 20 years old and a few weeks ago I realized I have quite a big bald spot on my crown. So, 2 weeks ago I started minoxidil, finasteride, nizoral shampoo, .25 dermarolling (probably going to go ahead and buy a 1.5). I’m probably currently NW3 or NW4. Given that I am vertex balding at the […]
So I am thinning fast on only one side of my head, a direct line in the middle of my head from the back of my neck to my forehead separates normal hair to thinning short hair, it’s actually messed up. I am 21 and have had nice thick hair my whole life until I […]

Just coming back to leave an anecdote of my experiences on fin, as I remember how useful I found these sorts of posts in the past. I’ve been on fin 2.5 years now. I was initially on the recommended dosage of 1mg until just before the 2 year mark sides started to appear in my […]
Could be. You can not judge hair loss by the week or month, it is a yearly assessment with good photos, HAIRCHECK testing (https://baldingblog.com/haircheck-test-how-it-is-done-video/) and yearly visits with a good doctor who has built a Personalized Master Plan with you and put you on a time-line for that plan.
You seem to have significant recession. I doubt that minoxidil will work but used with microneedling it might. Get a good doctor who will build a Personalized Master Plan for your hair loss with you. A hair transplant is a sure option worth considering
What was the plan you had with the surgeon? Did you and he discuss leaving the middle free of grafts? Did you have hair in the middle that is not showing here because of the shave? If you were uniformly bald, I would agree that this is not a good plan. You have a finite […]
So I’m not sure if I should try to prevent the inevitable. At 23 and with bald ancestors, I’m not sure any treatment will do more than just delay the hair loss. Is it worth attempting to save my hairline or will it all be in vain? Also how much will it cost me to […]
Struggled with aggressive hair loss since 19. Started the Big 3 in August 2016, and was a great responder after the initial 3 months shedding. After 2 years of being a thick NW2.5, in August 2018, I had a relatively big shed and expected this to grow back, but it didn’t. Instead I’ve seen my […]
It sounds like you’re way better off than me. I’m 31 and I’m pretty much a diffuse NW5 right now, and exactly 1 year ago I was pretty much a NW2 with some diffuse. I had massive hair loss over the course of one year. The amount of hairs I was losing every day when […]
Finasteride peaks at about 18 months and then plateaus or hair loss may pick up at a slower rate. This depends upon your age and your genetic hair loss pattern. See an expert physician who specializes in hair loss and get a good Master Plan for your future, as hair loss is progressive in ALL […]
If you use a Macro-lens on your cell phone (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S5YPPQX?pf_rd_p=ab873d20-a0ca-439b-ac45-cd78f07a84d8&pf_rd_r=CCSSMZGDS79G6AG31TT9) or purchase a digital hand microscope from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Microscope-Magnification-microscope-Compatible-Microscope/dp/B08HX42NCB/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=hand+microscope&qid=1634397365&sr=8-6), you can take a look at your donor area and calculate your donor density and your total available grafts or hairs for hair transplants for your lifetime. The key to getting photos like the ones shown […]
