You need to see an expert doctor like me, who can do a HAIR CHECK test (https://baldingblog.com/haircheck-test-how-it-is-done-video/) on you to determine if you are going to go bald. This is a lot of recession in someone 20 years of age. Who do you take after in your family line? Blondes are the BEST candidates for hair transplants, but at your age, I would be hesitant to recommend it. You should absolutely be on the drug finasteride if you want to keep your hair. I find that blondes are the best hair transplant candidates because of the low contrast between hair and skin color. If hair is important to you, you will look at my comments seriously.
The only way to prevent shock loss (the loss of your native hair) following a hair transplant is to take the drug finasteride prior to the transplant and then after it for a year or more. When this happens in women, there is no known way to prevent shock loss as the mechanism is different
I’m going to give it a go. Problem is in around 2 months i’ll hopefully be starting fin, and I’ve heard that the minoxidil will quit working for growing facial hair then. If i start now and use it for 2 months, will it still have any effect once i start fin? Is it worth trying minoxidil for facial hair just for two months?
No, it takes many months for minoxidil to induce hair growth. Minoxidil works on men under 25 to some degree. The hair growth may not be like a good solid beard however. We do quite a few beard transplants but require that you are over 25 because we don’t want to pre-empt your hair growth as you get older.
If you develop it shortly after taking the medication, stop it. If it doesn’t go away, see a doctor
Right now I am 20 years old, full hair norwood 0, but after finding out about this community I can’t stop thinking that I will go bald. My father is bald, but my mom’s side has no hair loss. Is there some test that a doctor can do on me that can determine whether I got my father’s balding gene? Please I need an answer i am getting too much anxiety from thinking about this.
No effective test is available at this time. I tell my patients to look carefully at their family history and find out from those who are balding, what age they started to see hair loss
I have frequent urination after taking fin that got better over time on finasteride?
Finasteride is often used for older men who have prostate problems who can’t pee because of an enlarged prostate which reduces in size on finasteride. It should not be the cause of your peeing problem
Men shouldn’t get forehead reductions because of the risk of more balding or recession which would leave you with a scar in the front of your head. A hair transplant lowering surgery is the best approach to this problem
A couple of guys whom I am 100% certain have gotten SMP, stand-up comedians Finesse Mitchell and Paul Virzi. Both of whom I’ve seen live and (because I have SMP and know what to look for) the stage lights immediately gave it away. I bring this up because these guys both have an online presence where you can look them up and see their before and afters. Virzi looks like he’s gotten his done in the last 6-12 months. Both of their results look great in my opinion, and Virzi in particular looks so much younger (he also appears to have lost some weight) — he looks great.
We do these all of the time, see here: https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/bold-shaved-look/

Originally Answered: Does vitamin deficiency cause hair loss?
Yes, it does. Your hair thrives on vitamins, but it can be hard to maintain optimum levels. The reason for that is because the sources for all of these vitamins can be so varied. It’s hard for most people to fit all the different foods in which all of these vitamins are found. Also, if you are lacking a significant amount of any single vitamin, your hair can be affected severely. Here is what each vitamin does for your hair.
vitamin A
Vitamin A is a natural vitamin that grows every cell in your body. Therefore it’s also one of the natural vitamins essential for hair growth. It is also responsible for allowing your scalp to moisturize itself by producing this oil called sebum. Without having sufficient amounts of it you’re sure to face hair loss. It can be found in foods like milk, eggs, and yogurt.
Vitamin B
Biotin, also known as Vitamin B, is one of the best vitamins for hair growth. It’s so essential to hair growth that it is also used to treat hair loss. Being deficient in vitamin B is nearly impossible because of how abundant it is in nature. It’s found in whole grains, almonds
Vitamin C
Out of all food vitamins for hair growth, this one is special because it essentially works as an anti-aging serum. That might be overselling it a bit, but essentially you get the point. Vitamin C produces collagen, which then prevents hair from aging. Great sources for this vitamin C include peppers, strawberries, and citrus fruits.
Vitamin D & E
Vitamin D isn’t really for hair growth, rather it’s to prevent hair loss. See, many of the food vitamins for hair growth are very straightforward, however, the role played by vitamin D in hair growth is not yet understood. All we know is low levels of vitamin D is also linked to hair loss. Vitamin E helps prevent the same kind of stress that vitamin C does. Sunflower seeds, almonds, avocados, and spinach are all great sources for vitamin E. Though it’s similar to C, it does not prevent aging.
So I’m getting 90 0.5mg pills delivered to me in the next few days and even though I only plan to apply topically, I’m still a bit worried about the half-life in the bloodstream. I’m hoping that very little will actually make it systemic, but it is much more potent than fin and last much longer. Does anyone have any experience with topical Dut???
You should be nervous. Sexual side effects are significant with this drug. see here: https://baldingblog.com/problems-with-long-term-dutasteride-include-increased-ed-and-alternations-in-glucose-and-lipid-metabolism/
