Why do so many people complain about bumps/skin discoloration after beard transplants? Is this an unavoidable side effect? Bumps in the skin should not occur if the grafts are trimmed of most of its skin and placed flush with the surface of the recipient area?

Yes, it will take a lot of grafts but the beard can be significantly made fuller
I started using minoxidil to stimulate my beard. Will it harm my existing beard hairs? The drug minoxidil will not harm existing hairs on your head or face
He actually may be close to bald, but his cover-up, whatever he used, doesn’t show his reality.
No, you should not try to remove the scabs at one week or else you will risk pulling out the grafts. I wrote an article on this and it takes 12 days for the grafts to settle. The key is to wash it properly so that the crusts don’t form in the first place.
After everything has settled down, you should know if this is a problem. I always trim the the skin from FUE grafts to prevent this from happening. At the fifth month, if this is still a problem, see your surgeon.
This is another patient who had his donor area over-harvested with a see-through look that he did not expect. He was never informed that this could happen. He wants something done about it and I recommended Scalp Micropigmentation for him (see: https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/scar-covering/#!) which should easily handle the appearance of the see-through donor area. His doctor […]
I had a beard transplant in Turkey, and I can’t go back to my doctor as I am in England. What is wrong with me and what can I do? You should find a local doctor who will diagnose and treat you. You most likely have an infection (folliculitis) which needs to be drained by […]
Go back and see your doctor. If you are using minoxidil, it could cause this. At this point in time, your doctor can treat it with special steroids that reduce the redness you are seeing. Redness that lasts 5 months is highly unusual.
You can have these beard grafts removed with FUE by using a large enough punch to remove the elevated skin along with the grafts. You might want the surgeon to put back the hair at the same time without the excess skin, so it will minimize the scar discoloration that would occur.
To avoid this, I always trim off the skin of the grafts prior to the placing of the grafts into the recipient area, but some very small skin edge may still remain despite this. There are creams that dermatologists use to treat melasma that might address this problem. These could be removed with FUE along with the hair […]
The photos (taken from an internet site called Imanscape) show a man who used Minoxidil for 3 months and the effects of the drug which clearly thickened the beard hair. Everyone who has this problem should try this solution first before having a beard transplant, especially for men under the age of 25. Many men […]
FUE thins out the donor area by its very nature. To avoid this, the grafts should have been taken higher up and distributed more evenly. Your grafts appear to have been taken from the neck hair which is a problem because neck hair is not permanent hair.
These bumps you are referring to reflect that the grafts were elevated at the time the beard was transplanted and the skin of the graft healed above the level of the surrounding skin . There is nothing much you can do about this.
