I received 2 emails from 2 different readers about my recent post discussing using minoxidil and Propecia together — EMAIL 1: EMAIL 2: I combined the answer of these two questions. Although the combination of minoxidil and finasteride is reported to have a superior effect on hair growth over taking them separately, I generally do […]
Jintropin is manufactured and distributed by GeneScience Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is a potent brand of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) and will accelerate any hair loss in men who are genetically prone for hair loss. It is worse than steroids for hair loss. There are many dangers in taking HGH, particularly without a doctor supervising […]
Thanks for sharing your experience. It should get better after a year.
The questions that you asked have been answered separately on multiple posts in the pasts, but I’ll briefly answer them here again… Rogaine is recommended mostly for the top and crown area, based on the several studies that were performed on its effectiveness. There is more and more testimony from doctors who recommend it that […]
You are correct. Nearly every hair transplant doctor seems to recommend something different. There are no scientific studies that indicate that one post operative care is better than the other. It is important to note the most critical part of a hair transplant surgery is during the procedure itself (the peri-operative care). Making sure that […]
Hair regrowth benefits from Propecia may be detected within the first 1-8 months after starting the medication, but the hair must grow out to see the real benefit so we generally put the timeline at 8-12 months. This timeline does reflect the value seen my patients who report either cessation of hair loss or hair […]
I am not sure what you are looking at. The transplanted hair appears to grow for the first few weeks before falling out in 95% of patients. In 5% of patients it grow and keeps growing. Be patient and wait. You will soon know what will happen.
I realize I just posted something similar to this earlier today, but I generally recommend that you take Propecia in the morning, for that is when the testosterone level is highest and the drug levels are highest in the first few hours of taking it. The half life is 4 hours, so by evening, the […]
Several studies were conducted on Propecia (finasteride 1mg) to compare its effect with placebo on hair loss or growth. To answer your question, I present the numbers of one study comparing the effect of finasteride with placebo in the growth of crown hair. In this study, hair growth was compared over a period of 5 […]
Propecia (finasteride 1mg) works through inhibiting production of DHT, which is responsible for male pattern baldness. By stopping Propecia, you allow the DHT to be made from testosterone again, which can deleteriously affect your hair growth. If you look at this diagram of Propecia effect on hair count, you can clearly see that the rate […]
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose By any other word would smell as sweet.” –From Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2) The use of trichophytic closures have been around for years — in fact, that closure has been used in plastic surgery for more than two decades. The hair industry adopted […]
First, as a healthy 19 year old, I am surprised you have an endocrinologist. Second, if you are of middle-eastern descent who typically have a very low frontal hair line, your frontal hair loss may be a part of juvenile hair loss which is not considered a male pattern hair loss. Perhaps this is why […]
Here is a press release for another magical cure (*cough*) for hair loss. Actually, they try to make this sound like some grand new discovery, but once you get to the last paragraph you realize they are just selling a shampoo called Follipro. I have used copper peptides in my practice for the impact on […]
Just to be clear to all readers, you’re referring to News Articles – Laser Hair Growth. I am not certain that what you are seeing is fake, but are the effects the results of the laser alone? How much is photographic views, lighting, head positions, etc. How much is because the hair is now longer? […]
