Curious what the consensus is. Is thinning/balding crown that bad? My take is that i would rather have a good hairline than a thick crown. Currently my crown is very thin but my hairline is okay. Should I consider myself lucky?
The man in the mirror is the one you want to treat and that is the frontal hairline which frames the face. Many men walk around with crown balding, but when you meet them, they look at your face when they shake your hand. You rarely look at the back of the head, especially if the man is tall. For this reason, I always start off my hair transplant strategy to make the front and top perfect, as much as possible, then, I will turn my focus to the back (crown) of the head which usually requires a lot of grafts (hair) to make it look respectable. Using SMP to subsidize the crown also works nicely, something I do often.
