Good results from 9 months on finasteride and 3 months on minoxidil
This is an interesting question. You can decide to take it in the morning and go to work, showering when you return home. This way your wife can touch your hair without fear. It needs to sit on the scalp at least 8 hours to get the impact of the drug; however, even the topical liposomal finasteride can go through the skin into the blood stream so you can’t 100% protect her from this drug. Using condoms is a solution that absolutely will keep her and her baby away from the finasteride.
I’ve been on finasteride for about 4 months now. Shed began about a two months ago, nothing too out of the ordinary. Shedding miniaturized hair everytime I brush or shower. I was wondering, how long is this gonna last? Does one reach a point where the only hair you lose are terminal hair?
You need patience. Finasteride doesn’t always grow new hair so you and your doctor should re-examine your personalized Master Plan if it doesn’t produce some new hair by the 6th month.
Doctors in my industry have had discussions at the meetings about the role of the arrector pili muscle in the growth cycle of the human hair and we frankly don’t know its value. When we transplant hairs the arrector pili muscle is detached in the grafts and the hair grows nevertheless. From my recent readings, the stem cells around the erector pili muscle may be responsible for the start of a new anagen cycle. More research is now being done on this very important set of stem cells
This is a very good response to oral and topical finasteride. I suspect you are very sensitive to these medications, Congrats!
This man used minoxidil on his scalp and found that he grew hair around his eyes and on his face above his beard. For women, this is a real problem. The good news is that when the minoxidil is stopped, these hairs go away.

If you think long term, what will you look like in 4 or 8 years in terms of your balding pattern? IF you follow the logic here, 3500 grafts out of (on average) possibly 1/3rd of your donor area (or more) used up. If you develop a more advanced pattern of balding, you may run out of both hair and money. If your hair is fine in thickness, then you will be in trouble, not so if your hair is medium or coarse. Finasteride should not be the cause of your hair loss. See your doctor and find out what is happening as weight loss of this magnitude is significant to your overall health.
Been balding since 2014. The type of balding I have is related to DHT. What happened to my scalp from 2014 to now? Did my body produce more DHT? Or am I producing the same amounts of DHT as before, but something that used to use DHT is lowered? If it increased, then theoretically, fin and all should have no negative effect on me, and I should be like pre 2014.
DHT often goes down slowly with age because it is the product of testosterone metabolism and the older you get the less testosterone you produce, hence less DHT. Balding works off of a genetic clock, so you don’t need a rise in DHT to allow the clock to kick in when the time comes (genetically speaking). Get professional advice from a good hair doctor.

It might, especially with microneedling as there appears to be some miniaturized short hairs that could be kicked into growing. The more medications you add, the better the chances. Adding minoxidil and finasteride can only help move you towards reversal
Is hair transplant useless if finasteride doesn’t work on your normal hair?
Hair transplants are taken from the back and sides of the head. These hairs (we call in the donor zone) are permanent hairs that never fall out, so when they are moved to the balding area they take their genes with them. Finasteride has no effect on these permanent hairs.
Two months finasteride, minoxidil, microneedling have been reported by this young man. I am a bit skeptical of these results in just two months because hair grows at a rate of 1/2 inch per month and these results would have required every hair lost to suddenly start growing to produce these end results.
This is a great result from finasteride. This is the type of results we see, not uncommonly, when finasteride is used for crown hair loss.
This man must have been very sensitive to both finasteride and minoxidil to get such good fill in just 4 months. The corner hairline hair loss reversal is dramatic.
