Propecia and Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack)
Dear Dr Rassman,
Much respect and love for you in all your endeavours to help us, the balding species. I recently came across a website reporting the possible association of finasteride with MI: DrugLib
I dont know how credible this is and seems unbelievable considering how many blokes are on finasteride. Can you shed more light on this please Guru. Many thanks
You can find anything on the Internet. I do not know of any correlation with a myocardial infarction (heart attack) and taking Propecia. I do not know of the circumstances surrounding these reports (or even if they are true).
If you take 100 men without Propecia and with Propecia is there going to be a difference in the incidence of myocardial infarction (MI). The Propecia (finasteride 1mg) studies, as well as the Proscar (finasteride 5mg) studies, had well over 10,000 men in double blind studies and did not show any increase in MI.
