Seeing Fuzz Growth After Using Follicare
Hi Dr, Rassman im 21 years old and have been using follicare for about 8 monthes or so and i think there has been some progress. There’s like peachfuzz growing but its been like this for awhile. How long would something like this take to start to grow thicker and with more color? and should i use a different product?
One of the ingredients in Follicare is minoxidil 5%, and this peach fuzz-like growth is what many will see get from minoxidil. You can stay on it or switch to the less expensive generic minoxidil (5% “extra strength”), available over the counter at any drug store.
About 14 months ago, I started using a topical formula on my scalp for hair regrowth – twice a day. It consisted of various herbs that have reputations in traditional herbal lore as aiding hair regrowth (peach tree leaves, burdock, sage, rosemary, nettle and jaborandi in an apple cider vinegar base.)
I also frequently used certain oils (olive, jojoba, rosemary and flax oils) on my scalp as well. My wife called it “salad dressing” and said I was making “Hair Salad” everytime I put it on. Her common sense told her I was wasting my time. She was right. I had zero results and I gave the program a solid year (using it twice a day/everyday) to work before giving it up.
Two months ago, I began using Follicare. This week, when I got my haircut, my stylist mentioned all the hair regrowth she was seeing on the top of my head.
I realize that Follicare has a minoxidil component that can be puchased for less, but I truly believe that the other ingredients in the topical Follicare spray boost the effectiveness of the minoxidil and help with absorption. The topical Follicare spray has many ingredients that, although not proven to work, at least show some promise. Surely, there has to be some synergy involved – making it more effective than just plain minoxidil alone.
The Follicare system only costs about $30.00 a month and comes with a topical dht blocker spray, supplements, shampoo and separate bottles of 5% minoxidil, so it cannot be accused of being overly expensive like so many other products. Most other products cost much, much more. I believe I am not paying that much more than just buying plain minoxidil at the drug store and, surely with all the other ingredients, it has to be somehow more effective. I believe it to be a good value and, so far at least, effective.
