Taking Propecia for Over 10 Years — Will My Hair Loss Still “Catch Up”?
I read your last blog entry and I was wondering, I know people who have been on propecia for about a decade (they started when they were 19) and they still have a good amount of hair left (I know one of my friends has a large receding hair line but it is not that visible when he has long hair but when he has short hair he combs it down and you can tell). You talk about our genetic code catching up to us and eventually those hair losing people will lose all their hair even on propecia but the thing is when does the genetic code of those people on the medication for 10+ yrs catch up to them? Will they keep all their hair until they are 50 because they have been taking finasteride for so many years? Because I remember you mentioned one time that at the age of 30 baldness stops so If I take propecia until 30 and then stop the hair on my head will it stay forever?
There are no studies that go out more than 10 years. My own experience takes me to ten years. As long as you take it, if there were ever benefits, they will be retained to some degree over the lifetime that you take the drug.
I took Dianabol for almost three weeks before I started to notice my hair thinning and I stop using it right away. I bought proscar to take afterwards and animal stacker 2 with DHT blockers. Than after a month past still losing hair I bought Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, scalp treatment and follicle booster. Now it’s been four months and still thinning with not much new growth. So I went out and bought all the supplements hopefully that will stop the gradual hair loss. I’m 41 and my hair has always been fine but I had a lot of it until now. It’s only thinning up front. If there is any addition information you might have on dianabol hair loss please email it to me and I will owe you the world. Thank you for your research on your website.
Give up the Nioxin…a waste of money scam. Supplements have never been proved to do anything either except drain your wallet. Generic Finasteride, generic minoxidil, Nizoral 1% shampoo. Cheap and effective.
