Testosterone By Itself Causes Hair Loss?
Hello doctor William
why don’t doctors ever mention that testosterone by its self can cause hairloss as well. I know its metabolite DHT is more potent at causing hairloss but we all know testosterone on its own can cause hairloss as well.
I mentioned this before, propecia increases testosterone by about roughly 15%. A persons front region/temple/hairline is more sensitive to testosterone and has more testosterone receptors.
Doctors always fail to mention that propecia has a possibility to accelerate hairline thinning. Yes it help the crown but at the expense of the hairline. For example if a person has mild hairloss, then by simply taking propecia it will jump start his hairline thinning.
I enjoy a good conspiracy as much as the next guy, but come on…
Doctors do not mention testosterone causing hair loss, because testosterone does not cause hair loss… except by its conversion to DHT. If the body has testosterone, it automatically has DHT. Genetics cause androgenic alopecia that is precipitated by DHT, and that is why finasteride works. It is not a hormone issue, it is a genetic issue. If you do not have the gene for hair loss, you can have all the testosterone or DHT or whatever hormone you want to blame and you will still have a full head of hair.
Also Propecia does not cause hair loss. It slows down hair loss. I can see why you think this, but your logic is flawed.
Testosterone definitely does not cause hair loss by itself. There are other factors that come into play. Hair loss can be very complex.
has it been proven that testosterone does not cause hairloss by itself? Testosterone does cause hairloss, we can’t be oblivious to it lol. DHT is more aggresive than testosterone at hairloss, but comon to say testosterone does not cause hairloss by itself is ridiculous. Im sure there are testosterone androgen receptors in the scalp to those prediposed to MPB. Its not only DHT
it even states on wikipidia,
“Loss of scalp hair (Androgenetic alopecia)” as a side affect of testosterone. Testosterone is a cause as well, but not as damaging like DHT to hair follicles, but it does cause damage.
Not sure if my anology is correct but I think, if someone who takes a DHT blocker like finasteride, then testosterone goes up a bit(becuase it isn’t being converted to DHT). I think if an individuals hair follicles are super sensitive to testosterone as well then by taking finasteride he will accelerate thinning related to testosterone.
“it even states on wikipidia,”
Oh, it “EVEN” states on wikipidia does it? You mean that site where any anonymous internet nobody conspiracy theorist can edit the articles? Someone just like you probably wrote that, and now you are using it as evidence. Circular logic.
to LOL:
Prove me wrong where testosterone does not cause hairloss on its own
” Someone just like you probably wrote that, and now you are using it as evidence.”
no offence, but you must be an idiot to think that.
Sure, I will believe an anonymous internet nobody rather than a doctor. Sure, anyone that disagrees with you must be ignorant.
I dont need to prove anything eli. You are the one contradicting the medical community. And your proof is “it says so in wikipidia.” Yeah, and who wrote that? Some anonymous internet nobody just like you with no credentials but that is just so certain he must be right. You then say its in the medical literature but of course provide no links/references.
Im off the read the “America didnt land on the moon” websites after this. Will you be there too?
funny how you ask me to prove evidence but you can’t prove any evidence suggesting that testosterone doesn’t cause hairloss. Your probably one of those people with 0 knowledge and education, just trolling blogs and stating redundant info.
by the way, go ask any hair transplant surgeon, or dermatologist and he/she will tell you that testosterone on its own plays a role in MPB. Is that enough evidence for you? LOL best advice I can give you is educate yourself
Listen Eli, when you copied this from Wikipedia (lol) “Loss of scalp hair (Androgenetic alopecia)†as a side affect of testosterone.”
This directly means that due to testosterone, DHT formation is the norm and thus will cause hair loss. If it says Testosterone causes hair loss, it is implying that “due to testosterone, DHT is formed and thus hair loss occurs” You’re not reading your statement correctly and need to analyze what it is actually implying.
to rational thinker:
So basically your saying, testosterone absolutely on its own does NOT cause hairloss. The only time hairloss occurs is when testosterone gets converted into DHT, abd therefore DHT is the CAUSE.
I have read from other places other than wikipidia, that testosterone does play a role. I also emailed a few hair transplant surgeons from the website ISHRS, regarding testosterone and hairloss, and they stated testosterone does cause hairloss as well. I don’t wants to mention the doctors names on here publicly, but go on the ISHRS website and ask this question to a few doctors and they will tell you testosterone does cause hairloss.
remember, I am not here to pick fights, just stating some facts
