Update: Reversing Frontal Hair Loss with Propecia (with Photos)
We originally profiled this patient last year to show his remarkable frontal hair regrowth from Propecia… and now that another year has passed, the results are even more impressive!
This patient had no hair restoration surgery. The results you see are from taking Propecia (finasteride 1mg) daily, and although the amount of regrowth he has should be considered rare, it is exciting for the patient and I wanted to share his photos below. Click to enlarge.
After 3 years on Propecia (no surgery):
Before:
hmmm why is his hair wet in the before and dry in the after?
somethings not right here.
that is pretty good regrowth
The hair is dry in both sets of photos.
its great to see posts like these!
Dr.Rassman, do you know approximately how long this patient had to wait before seeing regrowth? Did he get results quickly or did he have to wait a year or longer before noticing anything substantial?
Hey Moe,
did the quality of hair improve between years 2 and 3? Or did it peak at year 2??
Hey gg,
I didn’t think that the quality improved from years 2-3, but Dr. Rassman begs to differ! Honestly, I can’t tell you for sure since he didn’t put my hair through the densometer this last time, but it feels and wears the same way it did on year 2.
Peter,
I never correlated what I ate with my hair. But I do agree with you that in different parts of the year, my hair looks and feels thicker. For example, I feel like during the summer months it looks thicker than during the winter months. Also, I noticed that on the months I exercise it feels thicker. But all this can just be in the way my hair was cut during that time.
Not sure why either…
