When I Stopped Smoking and Was in the Sun, My Hair Regrew
can you figure out how hair that i had lost and hadnt grown back in years, all of a sudden came back over 2-3 months of giving up smoking and jogging everyday in the scorching sun ?.
I ask as the moment i got it back i stupidly started smoking and stopped excercising and it all diffusely thinned again.
Im guessing my hairloss wasnt male patterned and whatever type it was reacted to the constant sunlight ?
thanks
I don’t know how these things are related to your hair regrowing, but thanks for sharing your story with us. Sunlight doesn’t make hair regrow, for those curious. If your hair is falling out and regrowing on its own, there’s probably something other than MPB going on.
It sounds like you may have Vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D deficiency is associated with hair loss. When you were out running in the sun, you were exposing your skin to the sun which triggers the body to generate its own Vitamin D.
While you should certainly check with your doctor, you should ask him/her whether you should take Vitamin D supplements.
Interesting point. It’s also well documented that smoking severely inhibits vitamin d metabolism by as much as 95%. so giving up smoking and exposure to sunlight may have altered deficiency related hair loss rather than MPB.
hey i was the original op… my hairloss was actually a miz of hormonal and seb dermatitis induced… some of the areas hadnt filled in for over 2-3 years, i had used copper peptides and a whole load of other stuff… but as i wrote the moment i gave up smoking and got lots of sun to my scalp ( i shaved my haed) those areas that never had regrowth all of a sudden thicked up. ?
