When word came out earlier this year that Intercytex was closing shop, I received a few emails inquiring about where their assets might wind up. Months later, the announcement has been made. And the winner is… Atlanta, GA – March 25, 2010 — Aderans Research Institute Inc. (ARI) announced it acquired key technology assets from […]

I found an article (requires free login) about Intercytex’s death. Here’s a quote from the article: “Shareholders at Manchester-based medical firm Intercytex have approved its plans to sell off its assets and leave the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). The shares will be canceled on January 8 and the company’s name will be changed to Regenerative […]
The following response is by UK-based physician Dr. Bessam Farjo: Response by: Dr Bessam Farjo United Kingdom Back in 2007 and early 2008, Intercytex genuinely believed that good news was around the corner. This was based on the very promising results of the laboratory work. What happened was that the positive results of clinical trials […]
The following response is by UK-based physician Dr. Bessam Farjo: Response by: Dr Bessam Farjo United Kingdom A decision has not been made yet on timing. One reason is that we are still waiting on the analysis of the global photos concerning the larger of the injected areas. A second reason is the more promising […]
This is a continuation to last week’s post, Intercytex Announces ICX-TRC Phase 2 Results by Dr. Bessam Farjo. He had included these images with the text of his original article, but I didn’t have captions for them so I held them back until they could be presented in the proper context. The captions and images […]
Our newest author on BaldingBlog, Dr. Bessam Farjo, is intimately familiar with Intercytex. The following response comes from him: — Response by: Dr Bessam Farjo United Kingdom We finished following up the last volunteer of Phase II of the trial about 6 weeks ago, and the 1st set of analysis data have just been released. […]
Here’s what I found posted to their site last week in their September 18, 2008 update — ICX-TRC – hair regeneration Data from the Phase II trial shows increase in hair count in 11 out of 14 (79%) evaluable subjects at 24 weeks A little lackluster for those that have been waiting, but that’s all […]
I do not know enough about Intercytex and its research and development to adequately comment of the matter from a medical perspective. This sounds like a business issue. Drugs or techniques developed by one company often get sold off to another company (common in pharmaceutical industry).
Thank you for the heads up! A number of people sent this link to me yesterday, but I was traveling and didn’t get to post it until now. The article says that the results will be available next year, and I’d love to see them. You can read the article at TimesOnline.co.uk — Feeling a […]
Your guess is as good as mine. We never really know all of the facts and much of what is known appears to be for public relations purposes. At this point, I don’t really have an opinion when pitting one against the other.
At the recent International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) meeting, a paper was presented by Intercytex and it discussed the proto-hairs. This is an exciting development, but there is still a long way from producing these hair precursors to a clinically, reproducible process for creating hair where none existed. There have been other breakthroughs […]
You are correct in stating that I am a doctor, not a financial adviser. Risks are a matter of timing and intelligent selection. If I knew what to do with discounting the long delays in a financial sense, then it might be worth the gamble. In other words, your best bet is to ask a […]
What you are looking for, I am afraid I can not help you with. I don’t know enough details about Intercytex to comment beyond what I’ve already written. My present thoughts are that it may take years to prove and then have approved for clinical use, the final treatments that Intercytex is working on. I […]
I appreciate your reference here. Our readership should find it interesting. I believe that we will see the answer sooner or later and this company may have the solution, but I think it is probable that if this is shown to be effective, approval may take years.
Good question. We really don’t have much information about the quality of the hair that could be produced with this technique. I agree with you that even if you can have an unlimited source of hair grafts for transplanting into the bald area, you still need to keep your natural hair, otherwise you are committed […]
