Since I personally do not believe the Laser Comb works for treating hair loss, I would not think there would be any positives or negatives associated with stopping its use… aside from the extra time you save everyday to do other things.

For those that missed it, I analyzed their “results” photos back in 2006 — Analyzing the Results of the HairMax Laser Comb. I looked at the link you sent, but I am not willing to make the invested time to analyze it again. Is there selective circling? I don’t know. There’s nothing there that will […]
It does NOT have FDA approval. It has FDA clearance for marketing, and the product was grandfathered in. We haven’t seen lasers work as claimed anywhere and on anyone that could be said to be objective. I’ve written about this topic many times before. Further reading can be found here.
I personally do not believe in using LED lights for the treatment of hair loss, nor am I an LED expert. I’m posting this in case someone with laser or LED experience has more information to help you. I wouldn’t expect a 660nm light to do cause damage though, particularly in burning your skull. If […]
I generally do not trust clinical studies that are not double blinded, or have researchers with something to gain from the results. Most studies in the low level light area have failed to prove that there is a scientific result that is clearly positive. I’m not a laser expert by any means, so I’ll defer […]
I’ve written extensively about laser therapies, and quite frankly, they don’t work. In my opinion, they’re a good way to sell something to the desperate patient, but the results are not what one might expect. I had a large professional machine in my office some years back and offered it free to my patients. No […]
Snippet from the article: Read the rest at Engadget — iGrow promises to regrow hair with lasers, accessorize any wardrobe And it looks so classy! Any regular reader to this site knows how I feel about the laser hair therapies that make big claims with little to back it up, but this one goes a […]
You should come in to see me (Dr. Rassman) or Dr. Pak for an examination and an opinion. If you lost only the native hair and had only one session with us, you probably can have another. We’d have to see the donor hair to make any determination, though. We’re no longer in Palo Alto, […]
NOTE: The following comes to us from a longtime reader that wishes to remain anonymous. He’s gifted us with some insightful posts in the past about the FDA, LLLT, and clinical trial regulations. His email is as follows: — The Journal of Sexual Medicine recently published an article that has been the source of several […]
I was flipping through the current Nov/Dec issue of the Hair Transplant Forum International (a print newsletter for the hair transplant industry) and wanted to share something I read. Dr. Paco Jimenez, the co-editor of the Forum, reviewed three oral presentations from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) meeting in Boston a couple […]
A healthy vegetarian diet shouldn’t contribute to hair loss, but if you’re lacking dietary vitamins you might see some thinning. There’s a genetic test called HairDX that I believe is up to 70% accurate. But just because you have the gene doesn’t mean you’ll express the gene. There are only 2 treatments that are FDA […]
We have posted many times on the efficacy of lasers for hair growth, and in my opinion, it simply does not work. But alas, it’s my opinion… and if you or anyone who buys and wears a “laser cap” can show me proof of the before/after results, then maybe my opinion will change. For a […]
Snippet from the press release: Read the full PR — New Laser Cleared by Food and Drug Administration for the Treatment of Female Pattern Hair Loss The study that is referenced was done by Dr. Koher in North Carolina, but I can’t find any information about it outside of this press release (not even on […]
There is a difference in wanting something to desperately work and something actually working. Sometimes you have to face the fact there really is no treatments for some types of balding. There is no right direction I can guide a desperate patient who will just about try anything. I realize this sounds very pessimistic but […]
LaserComb does not cook DHT, nor have I seen evidence that any of the hair lasers do anything to DHT. People can believe what they want to believe, but there has yet to be any scientific study that provides a connection. I suppose that maybe what the guy with a blog reported in reversing hair […]
