My heart goes out to you. If the medications do not work, there is little to offer other than the use of concealers. Hair cloning can not be predicted for a time line. If/when cloning becomes a reality, these types of questions can probably be answered, but it is way too early to guess as […]

Hair cloning procedures available to the general public are still many years away. Maybe there will be medications required, maybe not. At this stage, no one knows. Any cloned hair would have to be DHT resistant or what is the point in cloning hair that is susceptible to falling out again? Complete failure of a […]
Some people think that there is a missing protein, and that when present, it will kick in hair growth from some residual hair elements that are in the scalp. If a missing protein is the answer, then the growth cycle may be dependent upon that molecule (see Scientists Find Hair Growth Molecule in Mice). There […]
I have no particular information on this, but silence usually means that they have nothing new to report.
The specialty of today’s hair transplant surgeons can become tomorrow’s hair cloners. Who else would be sitting at the cutting edge and wanting to make the market happen? When the flying car becomes commonplace like everyone has been wishing/hoping for 50+ years, I’m sure the major automakers will be right there at the forefront. As […]
I wish them luck. Of course, we are all waiting for the hair cloning or hair replication solution, but as the article suggests, it will take a few years yet. The article is confusing because on one hand there is a suggestion that the solution is available now and then they talk about the future. […]
My medical group had tried to repeat the work after we heard about it from the doctor who said that he invented the technique. We did it just as he said it was to be done, and as was expected, the results were essentially a complete failure to grow hair. As far as I am […]
Hair cloning is still in its infancy and we do not have much information about the process of a hair transplant with cloned hair, but I believe you are right and if it becomes available we should be able to transplant cloned hair anywhere that we do with conventional hair transplants now. Currently, we can […]
There have been good scientific studies with transecting the bulbs of individual hairs to obtain more than one hair from each bulb. None of these scientific studies were successful. There does not seem to be any ‘magic sauce’ in this report, so I am skeptical of it, but I would remain open minded if it […]
There has been considerable research on taking hair follicles, freezing them and trying to ‘wake them up’ for reimplanting later. Failure is very high and after a few weeks, there is virtually a 100% failure rate. It appears that freezing them with the various techniques available will kill the hair follicles.
Your question is like a set up for a ridiculous Hollywood movie “conspiracy theory”. I hope that you asked this question in jest. Merck, like all drug companies, are entitled to make money (a return on its investment) from its research in the drug development process and they can not possibly conspire to stop progress. […]
I really have no way to tell how long something like this actually will take to be perfected (nor would anyone know precisely how long it would take to perfect hair cloning), but my guess is ten to twenty years.
Maybe a little research on your part and we can get rich together. Please, when you find the solution, I would love to participate with you on building an industry here. Hair multiplication has been successfully done in animals and also in human volunteers. Some researchers have succeeded in making two hairs out of one, […]
It is not that simple. I was told that the mice that had it done as you suggested (in the late 1980s), had died from overwhelming infection. I wish I could track down a published source to back that up. The answer is far more complex, but this is not the place to write a […]
The excitement continues on the possibilities of cloning hair from special cells located in the hair follicles of healthy hair. UK government funds robot to help treat baldness The company says: The process for harvesting hair from the permanent zone is performed today using my Follicular Unit Extraction technique. If this is to be done […]
