I have been using finasteride for a year and my shedding had only increased. I thought that because I am young finasteride would be enough but I don’t think so now. My scalp has become more itchy, inflamed and red. All the dermatologists I have visited don’t know what it is or what to do. […]

I’m Male, 22 and had been using creatine for 3 months. I noticed my hair shedding and have been off it for around a month. However the hairfall has not stopped and my scalp still scratches. Any idea how I can reverse this damage? How long till my hair stops shedding? Any help will be […]
Be patient and everything will turn out ok. Some people, a rare few, keep their redness for up to a year. It always happens in redheads, blondes, and fair haired people when it happens. Sometimes the use of topical steroids can address the redness. When all of the hair grows out, the redness will barely […]
This is a compilation of information gleamed from a Reddit poster who put together a series of articles which may point to risks brought on by finasteride in pregnancy. I will quote the entire post and all of the references for you to draw your own conclusions. I have commented on two of the references. […]
Looking for a genuine answer since I’m just on the fence about taking and so just won’t to fully understand it before I put it in my body. Want to make sure that the alterations it will make to my bodies chemistry won’t be harmful and if it potentially is I’d like to know also […]
The use of Creatine with or without steroids seems to contribute to hair loss, see here:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/19741313/
I’ve been taking generic finasteride for around 5 years (since I was 25) and I’ve maintained the hair that I had when I started taking it. I also only had a minor side effect (orgasms seem to be a bit weaker, not too much but enough to notice) but the plus of keeping my hair […]
First, it’s not a study directly correlating creatine and hair loss. You’re assuming that the findings of the difference in DHT: T ratio and the increased DHT value from creatine consumption means it will lead to hair loss. Also, there’s been several other studies (listed below) showing that creatine doesn’t affect testosterone levels, and with […]
My comments and opinions are really just meant to stand on their own merits or lack thereof. But I can share that I have had close visibility into what research the PFS Foundation has been doing over the past several years. Even once there is an important finding, it can take years before it makes […]
Assuming that you don’t have an infection because your doctor cleared this diagnosis, then your hair and skin color often produces sensitive skin. To find out if this is the cause, you can scratch your forehead with your fingernail by pressing it into your forehead and moving it about 2 inches. IF the scratch area […]
Have you come across any studies which go on to show with considerable evidence that the bodybuilding supplement creatine can promote/speed up hair loss/mpb? There seems to be a lot of “broscience” when searching around, and I’d like to hear the thoughts of a professional. Over the many years in this business, I have seen […]
Go back and see your doctor. If you are using minoxidil, it could cause this. At this point in time, your doctor can treat it with special steroids that reduce the redness you are seeing. Redness that lasts 5 months is highly unusual.
This is an unusually long time for this to last. You are probably fair skinned and have what I call a “histamine positive skin,” which holds the pink color for a long time. See your doctor and speak about the use of typical steroids to reduce the pink color.
Creatine is a protein powder and by itself, will not cause hair loss; however, some compounds of Creatine have steroids put into them and this will cause hair loss impacting the genetic sensitive hairs that you have on your head. Be sure to read the label which lists contents
If the protein powder has steroids in it and you have the genes for balding, you will lose hair and that is a given. Look at the labeling on the bottle which, by law, must list the components in it.
