An insightful reader sent me this great email below, adding to the ongoing laser hair treatment debate, but also providing some clear bullet points of information that much of the media seemed to miss. ————————– I’d like to join in the HairMax LaserComb debate, not on whether Lexington’s clinical trials were scientifically sound or whether […]

I have not heard any reports that parallel yours. I personally do not feel that the LaserComb (or similar) does much more than line the pockets of the company’s owners.
I would guess that a Low Laser Light Therapy (LLLT) device like the LaserComb should not impact pregnancy. Ask your doctor and check with the medical warnings in the package.
Cases like yours are unfortunate, but it is an important reminder that hair transplants are permanent. As such, you need to make sure you are getting the treatment done by a physician and a medical group that you trust and that you have checked out for competence in this area. Do not search for the […]
We appreciate your excellent observations and input into such a controversial subject. I would hope that our readers take the time to reread your comments carefully, for in those comments there are many insights into the research process and when it is credible. For more from this thread of critical back and forth, see: Critical […]
Adderall is known to cause hair loss or thinning in some people. I can not even guess what will happen to you over time. Do not stop taking prescribed medication without discussing it with your prescribing physician. Taking Propecia is good and one way to halt your hair loss. The LaserComb, to my knowledge, does […]
From the press release — Full text of the press release here. The product’s website adds, “In clinical trials HPLâ„¢ technology effectively removed unwanted hair on the majority of participants.” Just how many of those participants had positive effects was not disclosed, though. It is worth noting that I am not endorsing this product, nor […]
I would love to believe that the technology works, but as yet, I can not become a supporter. I will look forward to your new publication and will read it with interest. I try to give controversial issues space on this blog to give a balanced view, so your response is appreciated.
You make many great points and perhaps the manufacturer of the LaserComb (and other manufacturers of similar products) will see your post and address the points you brought up. I know they’ve read this site in the past, as I’ve received correspondence from them when I disputed claims made on their site over a year […]
Thank you! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Sometimes these products can be muddled in with the financial gain of selling a product and media hype and not have much to do with actual results (i.e. “buyer bewareâ€).
There are studies, but they were done by people connected with the business, so I will not believe them until they are done by a completely independent source. See my prior posts on lasers here.
That’s great for you! I am publishing your comments since you claim the LaserComb had value and I believe that sharing your experience with others is important. I wish I would receive more such positive comments about this type of technology and maybe your “insightful” note will get others to write about their experiences. I […]
I have seen the original study and I have published my opinions on the matter: HairMax LaserComb Receives FDA Approval? Why Are You Suspicious of the FDA and the LaserComb Now? Analyzing the Results of the HairMax Laser Comb I tend to agree with your astute observations and criticism. This is a subject that I […]
Lots of claims, not much basis. If this worked, there would’ve at least been discussions about this among the prominent people in this field. Unfortunately, I’ve not been part of – nor have I seen any discussions about this so-called DHT effect from lasers among my fellow physicians. A cure for hair loss is essentially […]
This is not new information. I just don’t believe it. Sorry!
