https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32202088/ Of course, taking medications for life as one must for finasteride and dutasteride for hair loss has never been evaluated for long term safety (decades). The authors raise the alarm, but we need data here. There is a balancing act, to get the immediate benefits of these drugs vs suffer long term ill defined […]

I’ve read many times before that libido improves in people who quit finasteride and use dutasteride. I think there was a study on this. I have also observed this myself. Has anyone noticed this before? Could Dutasteride be more tolerable? (I use it every 2-3 days) Dutasteride is more potent then finasteride by about 15%. […]
This graph shows that Dutasteride when compared with finasteride has a great impact on DHT suppression. Here is the article: https://www.hairlosscure2020.com/dutasteride-works-finasteride-fails/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6388756/ The article concludes: Dutasteride seems to provide a better efficacy compared with finasteride in treating AGA. The two drugs appear to show similar rates of adverse reactions, especially in sexual dysfunction.
This man did everything that can be done and in a month has early hair growth. This should get better over time.
I’ve seen a lot of your messages on reddit being very helpful for people combating baldness. If you have a moment I hope you could help me with a small question. In my mid 20’s I noticed my hairline begin to recede and went on Finastride. It seemed to work great. My hair recession slowed […]

Moving the hairline down occurs in young men under the age of 25 generally and less frequently in men over 25. The arrow signifies the area of early improvement
What about dutasteride? Going by that logic and considering its half life, shouldn’t we gap duasteridet dosage to like once a week or once every 4 days or something? Thanks. I agree that with a 5 week half life for dutasteride, a once a week dose should work.
The patient reported no side effects taking this drug. I suspect that this man would have also responded in a similar manner to finasteride.
Nice results from microneedling with a microneedling using a dermaroller, dutasteride and minoxidil used for 18 months. This is an impressive return of hair.

My dutasteride ran out on september 25th, so its been almost 2 months. My libido hasnt gotten any better since then. Considering the halph life of 5 weeks, i should have some significantly higher libido now. But i dont. I was okay with having no libido for a time, but sooner or later i would […]
These articles published in peer reviewed journals, suggest that there are long term effects on using finasteride and dutastertide. It is important for anyone taking these drugs for long term use, to understand what these articles are implying. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32202088/#:~:text=Finasteride%20and%20dutasteride%20are%20frequently,and%20in%20men%20with%20AGA.&text=We%20suggest%20that%20long%2Dterm,disease%20and%20potential%20kidney%20disease https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4701851/
Dutasteride has never gone through the FDA trials in young men who wish to use it for hair loss, so without clinical studies it is all anecdotal. As dutasteride is both a type 1 and type 2 blocker and a more effective DHT blocker on the competitive inhibition side, I would suspect that the sexual […]
